Prison Break Authors: Is this your work?
Someone's plagiarized a ton of our stuff over in the jrockyaoi comm.

Check this link here for starters.

I see my 50-sentence Lincoln story, "Straight To Hell" (probably alazysod's piece slightly hacked, "The Seven Deadly Sins" (I think this is aeroport_art), "Angels With Blurred Faces" (Hi, liberateourtime), several of clex_monkie89's pieces she already knows about and some of mooyoo, and a longer chapter work that has GOT to be stolen from someone. Is it yours?

Please notify the comm and LiveJournal of your plagirized works.

And thanks to thelana for spotting these!

I'm in shock about all this, especially because I was so in love with project_avoids writing. Freakin thief!

I'm just glad no one likes my stuff enough to steal it!

The question is, then, whose stuff were you really reading? You'd probably enjoy their real work (though I bet it'd feel a little different mapped onto its original fandom).

Stealing other people's stuff is just weird to me. Where is the fun in squee over stuff you didn't write? It would just make me feel guilty. :(

there's always one arsehole somewhere. I just don't understand why someone would steal fanfic. what do they get out of it?

I don't get it either. Where is the thrill in praise for something you didn't actually write? I totally don't understand that. :(

WOW!! That really takes some major nerve.

Who are these characters this writer * cough * had the nerve to mold other writers hard work into?

I have no freakin' idea. I think it's a Slash Anime comm.

The Lincoln 50-sentences piece was molded onto a pair of musicians, which just... gah, the level of angst in Death-Row Lincoln vs. them really gets me.

One thing I've discovered is that all the other comm members and maintainers seem to be very nice. :)

I thought it was anime as well (because of AxB labeling structure) but apparntly jrock = RPS about Japanese musicians/boyband members. Maybe that's why they tended to steal M/L fics where they are teenagers or kids rather than fics where they were obviously older and more mature.

Actually, nearly 95% of the characters that are written about in the community are in their late twenties and early thirties, and those that aren't are in their early twenties. I understand where you would get that idea from, however, so merely to clear up the air!

As I am unable to apologize to every single author whose stories she stole (the amount makes my head spin), I want to thank all of you for writing such wonderful stories. They were all amazing reads, and I'm sorry I was unable to give credit where credit was due. ♥

:) Actually, the overwhelming kindness and generosity of the comm's members has really been the silver lining in this whole thing. You have a lot of nice people over there. :)

Thank you! ^^ I'm glad you think so; respect amongst writers is the important part after all haha

Oh-- that kind of explains the title.

I couldn't tell from the UserInfo, since I'm so unfamiliar with both anime and japanese rock.

Maybe that's why they tended to steal M/L fics where they are teenagers or kids rather than fics where they were obviously older and more mature.
Could be that, or the fact that as the boys get older the 'prison' part of their lives creeps into all the stories. What with Lincoln being on Death Row and all.

BTW, the longer fics where jeyhawk/bwitched's Life Half Lived (posted as Live Life Out) and apparently aeroport_art's Breathe Love (mixed with some one shots from various authors) is Catalyst.

I only caught two of mine, though I don't know about some of the earlier stuff she posted - seems that everything is being deleted from the comm now b the mod, so that's good. What does burn me up a little is that the plagiarist has now pretty much disappeared into the woodwork - which of course is extremely easy to do as it's the internet at all, but it bugs that there's no real way to hold him/her/it accountable, or at least to send an angry note. Oh well.

That's the thing-- the comm is handling it all really well, and the other members are extremely nice.

But the actual perpetrator not only isn't getting punished but is free to pop up and do it again somewhere else. Grrrr. :(

God - how do you feel about this?

I can understand being envious of other peoples work but I can't understand how someone would feel good about getting feedback on work that isn't theirs.

*shakes head at plagariser*

Its appalling, but at least there is some forum where it can be picked up and reported.

*hugs*

I truly don't get it-- where is the reward in praise for something you didn't write? Just bizarre.

Well, I'm more peeved about the Lincoln 50-sentences piece being lifted, because his situation is so heavy and serious, and that kind of trivializes it.

The other piece she stole was "Impaired Judgement," and it appears that Drunk!Sex!Fic is eeeeasily transportable to just about anybody. ;)

Greeting. I'm one of the mods from stop_plagiarism. I'm sorry that you were effected by project_avoid/bluesemicolon. I'm in the process of trying to put together a comprehensive list of who was effected as well as trying to find the original fics for what are most likely plagiarized fic. If you could got to this post, review it and leave me titles and links to your work, as well as see if there is anything that was converted by bluesemicolon into the Karou/Die setting that you recognized as a Prison Break fic, that would be deeply appreciated.

Also, if you happen to have contact information for project_avoid/bluesemicolon, I would love it if you could email it to me at spiralled at yahoo dot com.

Thank you for your help with this matter.
