I was up until about 3:30 Monday morning finishing the first draft of the 4th entry, and realized on re-read that the ending to my 2nd one needed a little rework. Ugh. Spent Tuesday polishing the 4th and 5th entries, fixing up the 2nd, and then posting and formatting all three. It's been a dog-tired week, partly increased by the shift to Daylight Savings Time. :O
So, voting on those Idol stories is happening in stages. It's an open poll for the 'Vigilance' prompt stories, and I need all the votes I can get! My story is here, with a link at the bottom to the poll where you can vote and read the rest of the stories. There are only 12 of them, so you could cover them all pretty quickly if you're interested!
I'll be starting in on my own reading of them in a bit, now that I'm almost all caught up on what the rest of you have been up to (both at Dreamwidth and LiveJournal)!
We've had repeating rain storms for the longest time here, and are in a break at the moment. Tuesday was too busy for biking (see Idol nightmare above), and Wednesday was too windy. Thursday was beautiful, so I went out for a ride that was terrific until the point where I lost a derailleur almost 4 miles from the office. And not the good one, either. :( I tried to shift down to the third chain ring several times, before remembering that this bike doesn't have one. Gah. Those last 4 miles were tough, and I only stopped at one light (slowing down to time the light change at the others) because it was so hard to start the bike from a dead stop. It only occurred to me during today's ride that I should have stopped and pulled the chain onto a better gear with my fingers, somewhere between 'slogging through cement' and 'hamster wheel' instead of leaving it in the hardest gear! Live and learn... :O
I was pretty darn tired yesterday after that, and it felt like the nasal spray I use for congestion never really got off the ground. Last night, my nose started to itch and then sneezing started. Oh no! I took one of my ecchinacea/goldenseal combo pills before bedtime and one today, and so far I have beaten the thing back.
So, any weekend plans? I'll be reading Idol entries, maybe looking at kitties, and if I'm being honest with myself, I should start doing our taxes. :(
