Forgot to mention the other awful part about getting up early to bicycle: having to force some food down before I'm ready to eat. Yesterday's half an apple went down easier than today's half banana, but still. Ick. I usually like to be awake several hours before attempting breakfast.

I tried something new today, rolling up some ice cubes in a paper towel and stuffing them down my sports bra so they would melt and keep that middle area cooler. Clearly, fabric would be better than paper. :O

Hey, you already knew I was weird...

Would double rolling some tights or stockings work instead of paper towels?

I tried wrapping with some lightweight fabric yesterday, which seemed to work well at the time.

But this morning, I had these red, splotchy sore areas on the skin where I'd put that ice package. Not sure whether that was from Saturday or Sunday or both, but... yikes.

In a month or so, I'll probably forget and try the second method again, so eventually it will become clear. ;)

Sounds like mild frost burn.

Are there cold pack gels that can be fitted twixt the boobs?

I don't know, actually. I wanted the moisture from the melting ice (since I wind up pouring water down the jersey on hot days, and then-- last resort-- over my shoulders).

BUT! I'd completely forgotten about soakable neck coolers. I got one of those out to try last weekend, and it definitely helped. I just wish it weren't so necessary to find workarounds for extreme weather!
