Whew....
So, I had surgery yesterday to remove the mass near my shoulder, and the doctor says it went well and everything came out easily. Recovering from the anaesthetia is never fun. The grogginess and dizziness! The nausea! The, uh, muscle-tremor jackhammer leg-thingy (seriously, that was weird). And the random itchiness all night long. Ugh-- that sure made it hard to sleep.

Feeling better today, taking the pain meds and trying to remember not to use my right arm (and not to reach for things, for crying out loud). I'll be home recuperating the rest of the week at least, and we'll see where the pain is by then.

But what a relief to have that over with. :D

Oh dang, I didn't realize you were having surgery! I'm glad that it was benign and that things seem to have gone well. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery! ♥

Yes, it's finally out of the way. Just getting a follow-up on where to go after the initial biopsy was a pain-- lots of prodding to get someone to take action.

But given that the 'mass' was going to be removed, it's nice to have that over with. I'll hate the recuperation time, but I don't have to worry about what it's up to anymore. :)

How long do they say you need to recuperate? Do you have one of those grabby-reachy things so you don't have to use that arm?

I'm happy everything went well <3

I was told to take it easy for about a week, mainly regarding putting weight or resistance on that arm. It's already feeling _much_ better, which is good as I discovered the itchiness and restlessness at night were not the anaesthetic. Gah. Must everything be some kind of codeine derivative?

I have a more major surgery coming up in 5 weeks, and we are going to have to find some other painkiller method!

Thank goodness, K. I'm glad you're through it, all went well, and now you can put it behind you and let your mind rest.

Yes, such a relief! The next surgery is going to have a much longer recovery, so I'm glad this one is clearing up already.

And no news is good news on biopsies of what was taken out..

I'm so glad everything went well for you, side effects aside :)

You need a heavy duty claw on a stick for reaching things :)

We actually have one of those claw things in the garage-- it's part of the hip kit my husband has used too many times already.

My reach is better now, though. Can't quite get everything overhead yet, but almost. :D
