I've been off the past week (vacation backlog, due to not being allowed to take much time off earlier this year). I've done some relaxing, some reading, put up the outside lights, readied Christmas decorations and presents, and caught a cold late last week. Today was my first outside bike ride in almost a week, thanks to being tired and/or congested over the last few days. We're enjoying having the kids home, and boy, do we miss them!
I finished my Yuletide story in time, and managed an extra treat for someone (I was up late last night getting that into the archive). On the receiving end... wow. I got three stories in three different fandoms, and all of them were terrific!
Die Hard 4: Domestic Dreams (John/Matt, PG-13) John visits Matt's new apartment, and there is judging and snark and something more. :)
Justified: Things I've Always Known (Raylan/Boyd, PG-13) Post-series Raylan and Boyd, with Art egging Raylan on while also giving him a hard time.
Battle Creek: Milt and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (Milt/Russ, R) Milt has plans, important plans, and every step toward them fails in a new and spectacular way. Plus, the glorious snark...
I enjoyed all of these so much, and I hope some of you will too!
So, hitting the sales tomorrow? I expect to replenish my supply of curly ribbon, decorative treat sacks, and various outdoor lights that die over time. But I apparently will be making a run on light bulbs, as the regular kind are about to become off limits in California in 2018. Criminy! I hate LED lights with a passion. The murky, sickly colors (especially the white and yellow lights), the alien glow. Ugh. More and more people are using LED Christmas lights in decorating, and for me, they have all the charm of the lone beacon in a processing yard or power station glimpsed at night while driving down the lonely back-40 of Oregon...
