There's this TV ad that features LEGO Batman messing around with a tiny LEGO lobster, before the whole thing degenerates into a Target commercial. Tiny LEGO lobster! I need that in my life. \o/

I'm not a huge Batman fan, generally speaking, but I have a weakness for LEGO Batman. He's so stubby and cute, and those bat ears are proportionally way too big for his head. There was a long time where I'd hoped our son would want the Playstation LEGO Batman game, but no. He started with LEGO Star Wars, and he stayed there. :(

Also? The LEGO Joker, for some reason, has the facial expression of someone whose hair is on fire. Which is hilarious. That movie is in our Netflix queue, but I may need to move it up to the top. ;)

The kids are due home for Thanksgiving soon (within the next few hours!!), and I can't wait. I took the week off, and most of it has been bicycling and raking a LOT of leaves (as in, both of those every single freakin' day). More optimistically, I went to the library last Saturday to lay in supplies, and now I'm reading Joe Hill's Strange Weather. I finished The Girl With No Past before that, and The Mermaid's Sister is on the Kindle. So many books, so little time...

Halfshellhusband took another shot at baking an apple pie today. The recipe had 1/4 teaspoon each of nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice, which was just wrong, wrong, wrong. Now the cinnamon portion is 1 1/2 teaspoons, which will be glorious. My grandmother used to make the blandest apple pies ever, and it turned out it was because my grandfather hated cinnamon, so she just used nutmeg. Bleah! My mother, OTOH, possibly adds Red Hots in with the other spices, which sounds like an excellent idea. :D

I hope that those of you who will be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow have a wonderful time! \o/

ooh, red hots in apple pie! i'd definitely try that. my grandma's apple pie calls for only 1/4 tsp of nutmeg, but it also has raisins and some jelly (i use apple jelly, because of course) dissolved in a quarter cup of bourbon or applejack, so it's not without flavor.

have a happy thanksgiving, and have fun with the kids!

edited to add i've never seen the target ad with lego batman and a tiny lego lobster, and now i feel deprived. i mean, tiny lego lobster!

The bourbon or applejack might be interesting, but overall liquor in food tends to taste too strong to me. And in this case, is not cinnamon!

That little lego lobster looks ridiculous, which is to say amazing and adorable. It's partly that it's so tiny. :D
