Prison Break Slash Fanfiction: Enthralled
Title: Enthralled
Author: HalfshellVenus
Characters: Lincoln/Michael (Slash)
Rating: PG
Summary: It was a weapon no-one could see…
Author’s Notes: Written as a drabble request for thelana, and for fanfic100 where I have the slash pairing of Lincoln and Michael. This is for prompt #37, “Sound.”

x-x-x-x-x

“Michael.”

That voice would be the death of him.

It made his heart speed up when he answered the phone—always too long since the last call, too long since they’d talked. It flowed over his shoulder and down through his belly whenever it welled up behind him unexpectedly. He was a slave to its sound, to the way it made him feel.

It was a weapon no-one could see, concealed until his brother spoke.

Lincoln could own any room he entered, his presence coiled danger or smoldering sensuality. He was magnetic, all pheremones and animal attraction. And still his voice had a power all its own.

It was deep, soft-edged, all velvet-hammer strength and intent.

And Michael should not, could not—dared not—respond the way his melting soul desired.

Very nice look at one possible aspect of Michael's devotion to Lincoln. I like that Lincoln (and his voice) is like an addiction for Michael.

Dominic really does have a great voice-- all deep and rumbling, soft around the edges. (If only he had more lines, we might be more familiar with it).

And I liked the idea of it sneaking in under Michael's defenses, that he can't help the way it makes him feel even though he knows better...

Ooooooooooh. Pretty.

:D Thank you, Athena! That is one great voice, truly. I remember it well from "John Doe," where the actor actually had a reasonable number of lines. ;)

A spot on description. Linc is deadly in every way.
And looking even moreso this season, with the stubble and the improved wardrobe. G.U.H.

The voice is just the icing on the cake... smooth, velvety-rich icing that it is. ;)

So making me melt. Just the thought of that voice. It would be beyond hot to hear in my ear=)

I definitely hope to be hearing more of it this season. It really is a wonderfully evocative voice-- and the package it comes in is even better. ;)

Ah, Lincoln's voice. Just a few more hours and we get to hear it again. Can't wait. It certainly has been a long summer. Hehe. Anyway, this is perfect. Really, really love the idea of Lincoln's voice as a weapon.

Thank you, Kim! It's a weapon of sex, that's for sure. It can be angry and powerful, but its basic mode is alllluring. Mmmmmm. ;)

Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talkin' about. Loved this.

This:
It was deep, soft-edged, all velvet-hammer strength and intent.
And Michael should not, could not—dared not—respond the way his melting soul desired.

was particularly powerful.
Thanks,
DC

Oh, and it really is, too. It's different from Keifer's voice, but so sexy in its own way. And compelling. And Mrowr...

Can anyone blame Michael for the delicious distraction is causes?

Good timing. And, yeah, it's not a parody of a deep voice, doesn't sound like he's pushing it low at all. And it's worked well in a prison setting just not, as you say, often.

Enjoyed the drabble too!

Yes-- if you've seen "John Doe" or seen Dominic in interviews, that seems to be his real voice. Deep, lazy, sexxxxy. Well, you can tell I've noticed. ;)

Thank you, bluesister. :D

Not at all. ;) That voice has a power all its own, and it could make far lesser mortals puddle up at the sound of it.

And then there's the slash where Michael does give in. It's all good. :)

Beautiful and sensual. I love the way you describe Michael's reaction to Linc's voice. The summer was too long without PB, I hope he gets more lines this season.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: DominicSexyhalfshellvenus on August 22nd, 2006 11:12 pm (UTC)
:D Thank you! I love the idea of Michael being snared by that voice before he knows how to build defenses against it. And then reminded every time of what it makes him feel...

I'm hoping we both hear and see more of Linc this season (with all the things that "see" could possibly mean. Death to baggy jumpsuits!) :D

Right on! You've captured Lincoln's profound effect on Michael's entire being so accurately. Yes, all it takes Lincoln's calling. Like a moth flying into open flame, Michael would go to the end of the earth to search for him.

M & L's love makes me think of a song that said "one day in love is better than a loveless forever", Michael would do anything for a moment of love with Lincoln.

The "Moth to a flame" notion really drove me in writing this story, but I didn't use the actual phrase because of mixed-metaphors, etc. However, I see you spotted it anyway! ;)

Oh, I agree entirely. Even if he had to lose it immediately afterwards.

And that quotation is absolutely beautiful. Evocative, simple, and deep all at once.

Thank you for your lovely comments, Dragonmaiden. ♥

:D I love that voice. And when you combine it with the icon above... Rrrowr.

It would make anyone stupid. ;)

:) Right there with you. Dominic is a "complete package" in my book. :D

I know some people think, "Wait, he has a nice voice?" because he didn't get that much dialogue in Season 1. But oh yes-- it's deep and rumbly and smooth and insinuating, and it's like the audio version of the visual we can already see. Mmm-mmm-mmm. ;)

Love that icon, BTW. Hot and fierce all at once. :)

Oh yeah Lincoln's voice does have that kind of power.
Michael should be up of saint status for resisting as long as he has.

I really love Lincoln's voice, and there's this lazy-sexy quality to it that's so tangible-- it's like a sensation more than a sound. Mmmmmm. :)
