This was so painful to read, Dean´s emotions were so clearly palpable... just perfectly written. You´re odd you know... you break my heart and make me actually enjoy it, LOL.
Thank you for sharing :)!

:D I know how that sounds, but I also know what you mean.

If it feels true, and it's this aspect of Dean being explored, it IS going to hurt. And yet understanding him validates his character at the same time.

Thank you, Zora. :)

Thank you very much. :)

Dean's POV just intrigues me, this aspect of him. And what an awful time in his life-- only exceeded by losing his mother. :(

Glad you liked it. Thank you again!

Uhhhguuuhhhhhh....yyyeesssssssssss...

and he will never break, because he is Dean - and is therefore already long past repair - and this ficlet shoves it in your face and makes you breath it in like sweet destruction...

Ahh, the darkjoy and total angsty love I feel for you at the moment!! It's like black cold sunshine - and man do I like it!!! Send more...

*Whimpers pathetically and crawls away to await the next SPN goodie...*

Oh, so terribly true. He survives, in body if not in spirit, only to continue being bruised by the ones he loves most.

:D Whee!

I love every part of the wording of your comments for this fic. They are poetry themselves! Thank you so much. :D

This reminds me of the last two scenes of the finale.
Where Dean is begging Sam not to pull the trigger!
The reality of Dean's choices are always so stark.
This is the problem when you who you are is aligned to whom you love.

I loved Dean's words where he says it scared him. It scared him what he was willing to do and where he was willing to go to keep Sam and John with him.

These two sentences catch the mood of this whole piece completely.

Dean's wants/needs appear so simple. But they involve Sam letting go of himself, and the 'more' from John that he just isn't able to give. And if he had them both back as he dreams of, those volatile moments would come with them. There is no part of what he wants that will actually work, even though it seems so small.

It scared him what he was willing to do and where he was willing to go to keep Sam and John with him.
Did it ever. :( What an incredible ending that episode was. Can't wait for the repeat! :D
happy is as happy does: Dean and Sam - Supernaturalhappywriter06 on April 10th, 2008 06:46 pm (UTC)
I want to cry. I have tears in my eyes. I love Sam and Dean and John and all their angsty family issues.

Dean isn’t the only one feeling the loss of his brother. John’s regrets are never spoken, but Dean knows they exist. Like a spirit seen through trees, or the reflection of a wandering shade, Dean has glimpsed the phantom pain of John’s missing child.
Love this part. When John apologized to Sammy (I forget the episode) and then to Dean in My Time of Dying, I was a happy girl.

By the way, I'm working my way through your SPN fics. Good times!

They're so rich because of the angst, and yet there's so much love so poorly communicated. Lots of inspiration for writing!

Whoo-hoo! I hope you're enjoying them. :D Some of my best Gen stories carry the "Dean" tag, which I never thought would be the case when I first saw the Pilot. How he's broadened...

This is really good. There's not enough GOOD fic that addresses their estrangement. Nice job.

Thank you, Wellew. This period of time, where Sam is at Stanford (or going there) is like a wound I can't leave alone. There's SO much pain in Sam's leaving, from both Dean AND Sam's side, and that period after he left must have been so desperately lonely for Dean. Nothing left but Dean and their Dad and missing Sam, but not ever being allowed to say it. *sigh*
