Of woMen and Mountains...
Off camping for the weekend-- offline until late Sunday most likely.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and tell me about it when I get back!

Wish us luck... the first night was a bitch-fest from the now-6-year-old. He was dying to go, but he does not deal with changes to his routine at ALL well. Every vacation features a few days of all-out bitching. *eye roll*

Hope to be getting some ideas out there that I will of course be unable to write, thereby driving myself insane. :0 :D

Oh I so know how that goes LOL I have one just like him and sadly mine at 9 has changed very little. He STILL doesnt deal well and I have no doubt whatsoever that one day he'llhave a wife cursing me going * What did you do to him!! He can't deal! You're his Mother so it MUST be your fault *

:D This is what I fear. Because the temperament of your 9-year-old sounds SO much like Christopher. Someone DID tell me that there could be major mellowing around age 10. I hope so. Let me know if that happens!

I will say this: our kids' personalities were evident within the first 60-seconds of BIRTH. Lauren had this dazed "What happened to me?" look, and quietly took everything in. Christopher... started to screech as soon as his head emerged (and the rest of him was still inside), and kept that up non-stop for the next 2 hours. I distinctly remember the look my husband and I traded during the half-in/half-out screeching. That look said, "Uh-oh."

Have a great time, dear. Come back with lots of lovely plot bunnies nibbling at your toes!

Good luck and have fun!

I hope you can corral the bunnies in a cooler until you get home.

And my 5yo is the same way. He demands the old car every time we get another one--downgrading, heh--and when we had the leaky kitchen sink fixed, he wanted the old parts put back the next day. WTF is that?!

Gah! That sounds eerily familiar, personality-wise.

Our daughter mellowed quite a bit after turning 2. With our son, we're STILL WAITING. 5 years later. :0
