From the halls of justice...
Or actually, the downtown Sacramento Public Library.

I'm on a midday break from jury duty (jury selection begins this afternoon, PLEASE let me not get picked). I'm half asleep and a little headachy because I was up too late trying to finish reading all the Idol entries before today's voting deadline. And did not finish-- thank goodness the library has Wifi. Took me another hour to read the remaining eight stories and vote. :O

My entry is a different take on a fairytale favorite, written with thegrimms who in fact ARE two people, and both very talented to boot! Intersections in Week 1, how is that possible, you say? Well, I'm still wondering that myself.

So, I guess this is Wednesday? I'm in a fog. We had an out-of-town trip for a family event on Sunday that took all day, and it sort of seems like the weekend didn't happen. Oh! Our 24th wedding anniversary was on Monday, too, though we're going to have to wait until the coming weekend to celebrate. This was all easier before we had kids, since we could actually leave town. By ourselves...

Are you here for court all week? You LIVE here? I work right by the courthouse...we should have lunch. :)

I'm actually free of jury duty, at least until they get me next time. :D

I was pulled in for jury selection this afternoon (that seemed like forever, but yet all of it was done in 2 1/2 hours). But they jury was picked while I was still in the gallery, so I'm off the hook for this time.

Good thing, as this one was a murder trial. I don't think I'd want to serve on a jury for that. It'd probably haunt me forever.
