Ur brainz, I needs dem!
If only I could remember where that Frenchified line, "Assistance, assistance! Shark! Shark! Assistance!" comes from. Probably a cartoon, but which one? \o?

Topic: so, I made it through another round of LJ Idol, and like several other Idolers on my f-list, I'm now seeking help input!

From the available topics, I chose Other side of the mirror. Great, evocative, and... wide open. Urk. What might you like to see done with that topic? Stories/genre/etc.?

Your assistance is appreciated!

I think it would be cool if you did something without literal mirrors in it. Possibly parallel universes, where the protagonist goes to another universe and meets their counterpart? And their counterpart is very much "them" but also shockingly (perhaps horrifyingly) different? And possibly the parallel universe itself also has the same-but-different vibe?

Ooh, what a cool idea! Kind of like a Star Trek mirror-universe, where things are similar but usually also disturbingly different in some way.

I'll be thinking this one over. Thanks!

I would write about your reflection's life on the other side of the mirror, where there are wells of words and transient reflections but everything is far deeper than it seems, and it borders on the nightmare lands and sometimes things get trapped there by accident and... but of course I would write that. And have, in fact, a few times. Maybe something about what your reflection thinks about while you're looking in the mirror, their desires, hopes, fears, interlaced with your own?

Haha! That first idea sounds exactly like something you would write! But also fascinating, so I'll think that one over too. Thanks!

all i can think is "how's your horror muse".... i like the idea of exploring what your reflection does when you're not looking at it, tho. that's kind of cool.

I vote for horror story!!! That prompt could lend itself well to the genre!!!

I vote for horror story!!!

Quelle surprise! ;)

Though it looks like what I've started may be a mix of all of these suggestions, so there will be elements of that. -ish. \o?
