Brainstorming/Storming The Brain
For writerverse: I've got until the end of today to write a 250+ fic on anything (!), and four remaining drabble prompts for the QuickFic challenge: Planetary, Discovery, Breakdown, Snowed In.

I'm hoping to write one or both of these (so, 2 fics total), but looking for inspiration as to fandom/prompts/setups. No promises, but you could get lucky!

I don't know if this would be at all possible, but it would be SUPER neat if you could do something in the SATED universe you had during Idol. That was awesome! The prompts "Breakdown" and "Discovery" seem like the could fit it pretty well.

That might be an idea, at least probably for something longer. I've got a little more time on the "Quick-fic" prompts. :)

I don't see much hope yet for that 250-word story. NO prompt sometimes is not a good thing. :D

What I do when I need a prompt is put my iPod on shuffle and use the title of whatever song comes up as said prompt. Maybe that's something you could try?

I hate not having a prompt. The only reason it's working for me right now is I have a list of things I want to write already anyway. So if I don't have a prompt, I usually just write one of those. I think the prompts are the reason I write so crazy out of order.

Oh, also. YOU HAVE A BINGO CARD. Sometimes I combine that with other things and sometimes I use it if I need a prompt. Although this is why I've gotten a new bingo card already and none of the stuff I've written for either card is smutty, wtf.

I do, and I keep looking at it every week and going, "Nope. Nope. Nope." It seems full of possibility, but it seems that in actuality, I don't want to write any of those stories. :0

At least, not at the moment, because none of them seem like they'll be quick (there's setup involved, for crying out loud) and I just finised a longer Justified story and have this second one due imminently. So, can't get too derailed.

I mean, "sex pollen"? I could do so much with that. I have. But that is not a quick story. ;)

Hahahaha! That is SUCH a good trope. Really, it is-- better than drunk!Fic, and I've written that too. Whoo!

Well, it's probably not your fandom or pairing, but it's this one for Supernatural. It's not precisely sex pollen, but the effects are exactly the same (thank you, Star Trek: TOS!!). That was before I realized that there was a name for that trope, which makes it no less appealing. :D

DUDE. It's not my fandom at all, but which TOS episode?
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: TVhalfshellvenus on October 19th, 2012 05:04 pm (UTC)
Have you never seen the original Star Trek series? There's an episode where they go on shore leave to a planet, and pretty soon Sulu's running around shirtless with a fencing sword \o/ and Spock is loopy and laughing and hanging from a tree. And people are randomly sexing. A lot.

AFAIK, that's the original source of that trope, because native planetary pollen was the cause of that change in behavior. What a damned good excuse for some "variety" in the characters it was, too. :D :D

Oh, yeah. The Naked Time. Of course I've seen that one. I even have an icon from it. I just didn't realize that's where Sex Pollen came from. Because that episode was not sexy to me. It was creeeeepy. ;-)

As in, for some reason I forgot there was any sex at all involved in it. Hahaha.

And to clarify, when I said, "It's not my fandom at all", I meant Supernatural. I've seen every TOS episode so many times I can recite lines from most of them. Where do you think the NebulaQuest plots come from?

Oh, I didn't find it sexy either, mostly funny. Except that I had a massive crush on Sulu at the time, so shirtless Sulu was a total win for me! And I was, like, FIVE.

I figured you meant Supernatural, but your punctuation implied otherwise. ;)

The first couple of seasons are definitely worth watching, and I say that as someone who isn't into horror stuff at all. But there are interesting relationship dynamics, and SNARK, and the two leads are easy on the eyes. So... ;)

Out of the fandoms that you write I only really know Supernatural and Iron Man, so maybe;

Supernatural, Breakdown - something with John trying to keep it all together after Mary's death?

Iron Man - Snowed in - Pepper/Tony - Pepper coping with Tony 'not coping' with being snowed in somewhere, sans technology?
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on October 18th, 2012 10:10 pm (UTC)
Funny, the "Snowed-in" one was the one I liked the least (there was a "Snow Day" prompt a week or two ago, and I couldn't do that one either!)

I'm a Tony/Rhodey 'shipper, so you won't be seeing that pairing from me.

I'm wondering about something more off-the-wall, because I usually surf my usual mental list of fandoms, and if they're not kicking anything off, well... maybe it's time to randomly write PotC or something. :0
devon99 on October 18th, 2012 10:29 pm (UTC)
Mmm, maybe 'snowed in' could be drug related - cocaine habit? You did say off the wall!

Quick fic isn't due until Saturday! Ummmm, trying to think. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. My week was filled with "real life" as Gary calls it.

Breakdown = Tony to me, haha. Of course I don't want more Tony/Rhodey, not at all. Discovery could be... it could be freaking anything! Tony makes a discovery he doesn't like, does Tony things, and get comforted by Rhodey?

Kinda vague, but it's early and I really just came here to say happy birthday. :)

Haha! I like both of those ideas! They may not get written before tomorrow, but I am definitely filing them away for later. I always enjoy some Tony/Rhodey inspiration! ;)

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Re: Happy Birthday
Thank you so much!

I was thinking of you just the other day, partly because I hadn't seen any postings from you for awhile, but also because your birthday comes up in November, if I remember correctly.

I hope things have gotten a little better over this past year, or if not, that they soon will. Are you still working on reclaiming your back, or is it behaving now? It seemed like you were finally getting some improvement there, last I saw. Back problems are just so debilitating.

Thanks for stopping by and saying hello! I've missed you! *hugs and more hugs*
