Hides under desk
I just now Googled "Healthy human lungs" for a project Christopher's doing, so we could see what color those are supposed to be. Clicked the "Images" list, scrolled down and... oh, god. I have officially grossed myself out, and those were the healthy lungs.

Yes. This is one of the reasons I didn't want to be a doctor. Yuck.

lol. I love the gore, lady. Perhaps you could have been a non-invasive doctor?

Do you really? Gah, I've always hated it!

Well, the problem with medical doctoring is that regardless of your final specialty, you still have to go through all the medical school training: cadaver lab, internships, etc.

Plus, the time-investment is huge, and that never appealed either! Getting out of school around age 28 or so? No thanks!

I like that icon-- especially the graphic. Is it Gru? Or someone else?

It is Gru lurking about. Love Despicable Me.

I did anatomy and physiol at uni, so I *HEART* cadavers. lol. Not really, but they were part of life, yanno? The time investment in a medical degree is a HUGE turn off, for sure.

Hope you and the fam are well? We're gearing up for the cold down here.

I really liked 'Despicable me'-- especially the adorable minions, Gru's pollution-mobiles, and this horrifying mother ignoring all of his rocket dreams and successes. :D

The family's doing well, which is to say that both kids are counting the number of school days until summer (about 30 still left), and we're gearing up for the heat. I'm trying to get summer camps/etc. straightened out so I can decide when our vacation will be and what to do about our one camping weekend. The camping might be easier, if it's just Christopher and me and if we don't go to your usual place (which I need to reserve in, practically, January. I'm never that on the ball).

Saw your news about Fringe! I'm about 3-4 episodes behind, but I still love it. Need to catch up at Hulu, while I still can...

Oh, it's almost summer break, yes. We're so behind here ; ) Sounds like you've got some nice things planned. We're about to start the long term before more hols in July.

Fringe is fantastic, isn't it? So glad it got renewed, but we haven't seen Season 4 yet, so very behind. Great show.

Don't ever google image search for MRSA.... Or mange.... Or oral thrush. I've had to do that and more. </p>

And I still wish I had went to medical school dangit.

Oog. My husband went a couple of rounds with MRSA, but it didn't spread terribly wide.

Medical school is so much work that you have to really want it.

And as vague as it might sound, I like people's insides to stay in, and the things that belong outside (like scalpels and needles) to stay out. And I definitely don't want to see any intermixing of the two!

Oh I am so glad I don't have to google that! *grins* I'd be grossed out myself.

Hee!

Somehow, I imagined I'd get the exterior views that would answer the basic question of color.

But cross-sections? Noooooo! I don't want to look inside anything. TMI!

On the plus side, I spared my son the trauma of doing it himself. :0
