Thank you!
To the sweet, anonymous people who gifted me with more paid LJ time, thank you very much! I have no choice but to pay it forward, and spread the happiness around! ♥

I'm just about to take Christopher to his weekly basketball game (HSH and Lauren are tied up at the Math tutor). There'll be lots of waiting time, so I hope to read more of Joe Hill's Twentieth-Century Ghosts before the game.

I wish I'd started my taxes (i.e., get all the TurboTax updates, start entering forms, and then figure out what's still missing), but we're nearly at the end of Sunday again. Where did the weekend go? Aside from miniature-golfing with the kids, watching The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horrors, and watching Yes Man (adults only). It seems as if there should have been more hours in there somewhere.

I probably frittered them away working on my LJ Idol story (almost done). I haven't liked the prompts much lately, which has pushed me toward more off-the-wall writing these last couple of weeks. I thought last week's story was very good, but I'm not sure the readers did. Or maybe they just didn't comment much. A Holocaust story can be daunting that way. To be honest, I feel kind of inadequate to respond to the comments people DID leave, if that makes any sense. It cuts both ways.

So, Oscars. Not watching, as usual, but I've got stuff on Hulu to catch up on. Or I could load TurboTax and get that going. Nah, what are the chances of that?

LOL at your Turbo tax comment at the end. I'm not even planning on going to get my taxes done until our whole mess with the IRS is straightened out. I'll have to at some point, since it's rather doubtful that it will be fixed before the April deadline. *sigh*

I know how you feel about LJ Idol. I too thought my last story was good, but like yours, it garnered very few comments, at least compared with previous ones. This week's, about ice cream, is already doing much better. LOL Readers, who can figure them out? Hahaha.

You CAN file an extension for your taxes, and it looks as if you should. Gah-- the IRS can drag out the stupid forever.

One of my least favorite years was the one in which my SIL got a form that we needed to file on April 14th... and I'd mailed off my state taxes already. So I had mismatched state and federal taxes, and couldn't "recall" my state taxes and try again. Had to wait about 6 months for the state to process them, so I could then file an amendement. Argh. And small potatoes compared to what you're going through.

I heard, via rumor, that lots of people were finishing up exams last week, and so there might have been less commenting due to that. I don't know-- there were a few people I didn't hear from who almost ALWAYS comments, so I don't know what to make of that. Hated it? Daunted? Forgot that they didn't comment?

I need some voodoo sticks to figure that out. ;)

Yeah, I knew about the extension thing, just keep hoping it won't actually come to that. *sigh* Probably a vain hope, but who knows? HR was actually kind enough to send me an e-mail today just to let me know the company they contract with to do payroll was "working" on it. Oh gee, I feel so much better now. LOL

Lemme know if the voodoo thing works, and I'll try it. *grin*

"Working" on it in the way they worked on the original W-2 that sent up red flags for the IRS? That's reassuring. :0

Yup, that's what I was thinking. GRRR!
