Three-Sentence Meme
This worked out pretty well mid-week, so let me embrace the random and see if I can get a little writing out:

Comment with your choice of fandom, pairing (if any), and brief prompt and I'll try writing a 3-sentence fic for it.

No guarantees, but if I know the fandom well enough and it's not a squicky pairing for me, I'll do my darndest (see my fic pages for my OTPs and fandoms I've written before, but the stuff under "Interests" or that you know I've seen is fair game, too).

Hat. Ring. Toss?

Cocoon
Sorry this took so long-- I just couldn't get a handle on it for the weeks.

With Westmoreland's end-of-the-rainbow riches waiting in Utah, Michael found it hard not to rush through the distance—the steps—in between.

He and Lincoln drove day and night to get there, sleeping in turns until they just couldn't take it anymore. Finally, they pulled off the highway and found a field to stretch out in, settling in under a blanket big enough for the two of them and warm enough to keep the night at bay.

Re: Cocoon
Lovely, and the snuggling together sounds so intimate. Loved it. Thanks a lot :)

I am back again and had to drop by to say hi! <333 How are you doing?

Good! It's nice to see you back-- it's been too long.

How are things for you and your family? :)

Hi! I haven't been through my friends page in forever (again), so I probably don't deserve a fic. Also, what I want is pretty unoriginal right now, so please feel free to skip. Nevertheless, tossing:

Co-Conspirators
If friends knew where the bodies were buried, old friends were the ones that helped you dig the graves.

"I swear to God, this is the last time Rufus," Bobby said.

"Last time was supposed to be end of it, until you brought me that reanimated trucker, which made it your turn all over again," Rufus answered, "so shut the hell up and keep digging."

Re: Co-Conspirators
Glad you enjoyed it!

I just love the two of them together, and curses to S6 and its canon for punishing us once again.

Drive
It feels like he's been awake for a week, but John keeps driving—they've got a psycho to stop, and time is running out fast.

The kid sits next to him, all floppy hair and big eyes, probably wondering what John and the situation itself will ask of him.

John doesn't know either, but he knows things will probably get worse before they get better, and yet he still can't help but smile: the fact that the kid is here is more than anyone could have asked for, and as far as John's concerned that means they're already ahead of the game.

"You've already gotten all you're getting from me, so don't look at me like that."

"Why not, when there's a perfectly good excuse dangling overhead," Crowley said, "and it's a tradition even you can respect?"

"All right, just this once, but don't take anything," Bobby said, thinking of souls and secret contracts while never admitting that he might just as easily be referring to the illusion that only Crowley was tempted by the current opportunity.

Hahaha... Awww thank you so much, my dear Mme Venus, I'm still giggling about the picture in my head you'd created with those three hilarious and cracky sentences of yours, hahaha...^^

Hach, poor Bobby... but could it be that our dearest Uncle has a *coughs* little secret there?^^

Crowley's comment about "Did you have to use tongue?" will always leave room for open interpretation, I say.

Merry Christmas, dear Helio!

Hi! Glad to see you've resurfaced-- and are employed, no less. Have you graduated, then?

Here's your ficlet, sorry for the delay:

Ordinary Riches

Utah, with its stash of Westmoreland's money, was supposed to be their salvation; now Lincoln and Michael are digging through a tract home basement along with the rest of the breakout crew, each of whom piled in piecemeal to grab his share of a treasure that quite possibly doesn't exist.

God, what a mess, Michael thinks, glancing over at Lincoln for reassurance or maybe just a fresh idea. The smile he finds waiting for him brings home the truth: they're free, and if they come out of this penniless they still come out together, and that's the only future that really counts.
etherealflaimetherealflaim on December 21st, 2011 01:04 am (UTC)
Yay! I was hoping you'd take it in a direction like that.

I did graduate indeed! I'm working out in Silicon Valley (awesome weather, yay) and loving it. I've been mostly lurking in Castle fic groups recently, but have spent most of my time writers'-blocked.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: PB slashhalfshellvenus on December 21st, 2011 02:27 am (UTC)
I'm glad you liked the ficlet, and weren't looking for something more hardcore porny. I've already written that as a fic, with "Payback" as the title, so I was looking for new territory. ;)

Silicon Valley's weather IS good, much better than Sacramento's. The sprawl and traffic, though... urgh. Still, when you're in the software biz it is THE place to work, so congrats! \o/

etherealflaimetherealflaim on December 21st, 2011 04:21 am (UTC)
Good prose is good prose, porny or not :).

I'm finding that, despite my best efforts, most of my writing comes out PG nowadays. Not that I have been able to put down many words anyway... I write for a bit, and then can't write, and so I fall back to coding... my current side project is fictex.appspot.com, which happens to help satisfy both cravings ^_^.
