And we're back!

We survived the weekend camping trip. Thanks to Lauren's bitching and moaning, I was utterly ambivalent about going (even while packing!) But it was worth it for the rest of us—gorgeous as always, even if we got less sleep than usual. My back kept me awake a lot, and the daily 6am bird explosion didn't help either. Both Christopher and I had earplugs in, and were woken by those stupid birds. Lauren, who sleeps like the dead, never heard them. Where is the justice?

Now that we're back, I'm scrambling to get stuff ready for the kids' birthdays. Lauren is going to Santa Cruz with a couple of friends instead of having a party, so that's less work for me. Christopher wants a Harry Potter cake, so I imagine his "Hagrid's Hut" LEGOs (an early birthday present) will be getting a workout. ;)

I need to get some writing done this week—I've got two stories that I'm poking along (both auction-fics), and at least one book review for Amazon VINEs. I'd like to burst forth with something unexpected instead, something that wants to finish. You know—just to remember what THAT was like. :0

Since we're waiting on Community, S2 to be available via Netflix, we've introduced the kids to Wonderfalls. Lauren is horrified by the main character, which is strong motivation for not ending up that way, herself. I suspect Christopher is more in danger of becoming a slacker than Lauren, though.

Randomly, there is a boy-velithya at my office. If he didn't have an American accent, I would seriously think there was something more than random coincidence at work. o_O

How is everyone? And did you post anything epic during July 15-18? That's the part of my f-list I was trying to catch up on when LJ died, and afterwards, I couldn't get to it. The entries were too "old" I guess. Phooey. :(
