Too soon?
It's my birthday month, and Halloween month! Crossing over into October would be all the excuse I need to put up the Halloween decorations, except that the weather needs to cool off first. This sudden 95-100o heat wave kind of subverts the mood. Also, the house is getting painted next week, so I suppose I should wait. Hrmph.

Today's bike ride kind of sucked. I don't usually notice bad air days, but jeez. I was out of breath in the first mile, and cut the ride short about 5 miles before I'd intended to. What a battle. Kind of like the office Fun Run we had a week ago, where everything's in the full sun and surrounded by pavement. I stopped five times during that run, though I did eventually finish. With a lameass speed of nearly 10 minutes per mile. That 3-mile run felt like my regular 4-mile run. :0

I'll be watching you-know-what tonight, and maybe also the premiere of Chuck courtesy of the DVR (we're a little behind). Which brings this to mind:

Poll #1626553 Fandom Bidness

Wincon is in two weeks!

I'll be there!

Damn, why you gotta bring that up every year. :(

ETA: With the number of audio dropouts in tonight's SPN, and the various frozen/broken-up feeds on other shows over the last couple of weeks... boy, I sure see how that shift to digital was totally an improvement! Not.

Are you a Scorpio? I am- a Halloween Scorpio with all the explosive perks. Kabooom! I love this time of year- fall is my springtime. I get energized!

prison break babe
Here's yr present early, Scorpio or not. NOT WORK SAFE EVEN SLIGHTLY. The artist does some brilliant manips, all portraits of various film & TV dudes that are just excellent, but unfortunately he doesn't have a gallery or web page or anywhere he displays his work. This is posted on an LJ scrapbook of mine.

Enjoy:

And many happy returns!

:D I'm a Libra, with all of the usually personality traits that entails.

I miss living in Oregon, because the fall actually seemed like fall there, and I miss it. Here in Sacramento, everything starts to die and you suddenly realize, "Oh. It's September."

I feel you- I really adore the whole passage into fall. The smells and color scheme, the sunlight changing, the sweaters, frost on the ground in the morning. It's very soulful and glorious- even the way rain makes the falen leaves stick to your shoes.

One of my favorite small fall things is when a really red leaf disintegrates on the sidewalk and leaves an imprint behind on the cement. I try and find one of those every fall while I'm walking around. So cool.

I saw a giant Christmas spread at the Woodfield Mall today. It is not too soon for Halloween decorations. In fact, by retail standards, I think you're late. ;)

Christmas? That's so wrong. :(

Merchants don't realize that the more they harass customers with Christmas pressue, the more they wear people down until they don't want to buy anything. Ugh.

Now, WHERE did you get that icon? Because that one looks like Raymond Rabbit inside a pumpkin. Got to wait until Christmas to buy a Wii, but once we do I am definitely planning on getting Raymond Rabbit! Graveyard bunnies and plungers! Beach races! Dental disasters!

Exactly! I used to love when the decorations came out bc it was part of the season. Now, it annoys me so much I haven't decorated in years.

It is! I made it. Foxriverinmate and I have become obsessed with the rabbids. (she made the icon I'm using now) I meant to ask you from an earlier comment (I'm so behind!) if your kids had any of the games. You must tell me if they're fun. They've got videos from the newest game where they go thru time and it looks adorable - in their frantic slightly psychotic way, of course. :D

Haha-- another one!

We don't have the games ourselves. My sister does, though, and we played them when we visited a year ago. Should have tried them again this past summer! All I got to do was Mario Cart, and I sucked at it.

The games are fun, and also, loony. There's nothing like loony! I had to search via Amazon (it is Rabbid and not 'rabbit') to see some of the actual names: Bunnies Don't Brush Their Teeth, Bunnies Can't Dress In The Dark.

One of the other games includes racing around an island on a warthog, where you use a flyswatter for a riding crop. The warthog resists your attempts to steer, especially at high speeds! There's another one with Wild West movie set, where you shoot bunnies with toilet plungers. I have no idea what the giant doofus bunny's name is, but he wanders in during many of the games.

I'm looking forward to buying these. :)

OMG! Those games sound hilarious!

I'm going to have to get someone I know with a gaming system to let me at least rent them. Thanksgiving at the sis's usually involves shooting zombie games, but if I'm going to be forced to go this year, I'm demanding rabbids!

And there's a whole series of bunny videos about how they can't do things. Foxy's founds some gems. They also attempt to go to the moon. Here's a "naughty" one:

That sounds like an excellent idea! The games are just really weird, and who could resist cow-tossing or firing toilet plungers at Things in a graveyard?

I'll have to watch your video after I get home, just in case. Thanks for the link!
