"I'm dying," Sam said. "I thought you fixed the A/C."

"Thought so too. It worked earlier, but this road is Death Valley hot."

"Arizona in August… might as well shut the whole state down."

Dean squinted at the dust and tumbleweeds along the road. "Maybe they did."

"Remember that summer in Iowa? With the creek?"

"And the leeches? Totally worth it, though, just to cool off. Hey, you see that?"

"Dean…"

"What? Nobody's home."

"A grown man in a kiddie pool is either a redneck or a perv."

"I've got beer..."

Sam debated. "What the hell—pull over."

"All right!"

*snicker*

I'd pay money to see that!

You know they'd be in their boxers (or nekkid), AND that someone would probably come home while they were still in that pool.

Half-drunk, half-nekkid, and falling all over themselves: "This isn't what it looks like!"

:D

LOL! I'm with borgmama1of5...I'd pay to see that!

Me too! And the aftermath, of course, complete with traumatized family and small-town sherrif. ;)

I hated AZ in the summer, was there (and in NM) about 20 years ago. My daughter is in AZ now and she says she loves the 115 temps. I think she may just be saying that cause I said she would find it too hot, and God forbid she should say I was right about something LOL. The one thing I do know is that her hair is not dying as there is no humidity.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot...cute drabble too LOL.

I've got clexmonkie_89 on my f-list, so I know that as bad as Sacramento gets in the summer, Phoenix is always worse Gah!

It's enough to make a person resort to some truly crazy things. ;)

*laughs* I can just picture the two of them in there!

BTW, if you mean the nasty critters, those are spelled 'leeches.'

Ack! Fixed it. I don't know what's happened to my brain anymore- I used to be a fantastic speller. Now, everything's on the fritz.

I can just picture the two of them in there!
"You're hogging all the water, Sam."
"No, YOU are!"

oh god, arizona in august. i was there in may (one of my cousins got married) and that was too hot. if i was the boys i'd commandeer a total stranger's kiddie pool too.

also the image of them sitting in it wearing their undies and drinking beer just cracks me up.

They'd have to be practically on top of one another, trying to fit in that pool LOL.

*loves*

:D Some of those pools are decent-sized, though not the little inflatable ones most people think of.

"You're squashing me."
"Well, you're soaking up all the water! Give me the hose."
"No."
"Gimme!"
"No!"
*splORSHHhhhhhhh*
"Great, you killed it."
"Eh. I was done anyway."

;D

I definitely want the pool to be the small, inflatable one then!!

Thanks for the adorable image ♥

I'll say!

A contractor who does occasional jobs for us told my husband yesterday that he and his family were off to their annual summer vacation in Arizona soon, and I thought, "What? WHAT???"

I cannot imagine choosing that heat on purpose. March, yes-- live it up! January's even better! But summer? o_O

There's a kiddie pool in my backyard right now, Winchester Boys! Come on over!!!

YAY! Thank you for the great laugh. You're a wonder!! *hugs hugs hugs*
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Wheehalfshellvenus on July 30th, 2010 04:27 pm (UTC)
Heck, I'd leave a kiddie pool out to lure them over anytime! Though I'd probably get the whale cat drinking out of it for all eternity instead... :0

So glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the great prompt! :D
