Was that clusterf**k seriously the season finale of L&O:SVU?

It started out well, but the last ten minutes felt like an endless drawn-out tapdance. What?

That's how I felt about what I saw this entire season, tbh.

I hadn't noticed it to that degree. The episode with all of the Senior Babes from the Past was kind of scattered (as if they wanted each of them to have a cameo), but since I liked it that didn't bug me.

I like Sharon Stone's character, but her parts have been kind of random, I admit.

I seriously wanted Naveen Andrews back for another episode! And I've been jonesing for more episodes that reveal Ice-T's character ever since the one seasons ago that actually made me like Martha Plimpton. OMG, how?

I agree, I think they were going for a twist ending, but they failed. I am glad they didn't kill off Melinda, that would have pissed me off.

On another note, L&O has been great this season, I hated it last season, but have grown used to Lupo and Bernard and I LOVE Van Buren's cancer storyline.

Come fall - Law and Order: Los Angeles.

I hate that L&O is being cancelled! I was unsure about Lupo and Bernard when they first created that pairing, because the characters seemed so similar. And yet, it really worked well-- they seemed to ground each other somehow, and I loved their chemistry. And Van Buren... I will always love her, so having a character-intensive arc was even better.

The weak spot was the DA side. Moving Sam Watterston into the DA role (which is the "carp and complain" role apparently), really undermined that aspect of the show. Linus Roach comes off as too wimpy to carry the weight that Jack McCoy used to bring to that half of the show, but then I'm not surprised-- Dick Wolf never seemed to understand that Michael Moriarty was also a detriment to his show and not a strength. Whiny and self-righteous. Ugh.

L&O: Los Angeles... why? I'd rather have them fix the old one. *cries*

As far as cancellation, the scenes from next week announced "season finale" but the menu thing on my TV said series finale. I like Linus sometimes, but other times I wanna smack him. Jack is not good as the DA - he was great in the courtroom, and maybe they should demote him if the show does come back.

I think they should have done that last year. Really, he reminds me of Stephen Hill in that role, whose only function was to nay-say and nag, and sometimes handwring. But he was a very strong prosecutor, and Linus just doesn't have the presence (and I've always thought his partner was weak-- their best assistant was one of their shortest-lived, Angie Harmon, and I never thought I'd say that).
