Heat Exhaustion Sux...
If only it felt more like "too hot" instead of just like "tired." Couldn't finish my run yesterday (made only about 3 of the 4 miles, with about 4 stops), and really struggled during today's bike ride. It hasn't honestly been that hot, it's more those sudden 20-25o jumps in temperature.

What I DO remember of today's ride included a big snake, which I knew was a snake both because it was moving and because of the runner and the cyclist fleeing from it like frightened mice. As usual, I couldn't tell what kind of snake it was. When you're moving along at biking speed, snake==avoid, just in case. I also had to tell the same mutant black squirrel to get off the bike path twice (once for each direction), and saw a couple of tiny lizards (these are scarce now). Also, it is both black butterfly and fuzz (cottonwood) season. Bleh.

Some of you finished up Big Bang fics this weekend. Way to go! I admire your dedication and your wordcounts both!

I played too much Spider Solitaire (god, I'm weak), did a ton of chores, and pruned more of the yard. Christopher got new shoes (Men's size 9, and even though they're a little big to allow growing room, still... his feet look like pontoon boats). Lauren is officially taller than me, by at least 1/2", right at age 12 just as I expected. :(

I'll be posting up my monthly fic list for the last two months, which more closely resembles what is usually the list for one month. Must defunkify. And I don't mean musically.

Actually, I'm surprised at the last two day's heat (86 yesterday, hotter than I thought).

We've had some weather at about 65-72 degrees, interrupted by the Sunday-Tuesday return of winter, every week for over a month now. It's more of a surprise that it seems to have _stopped_ being winter!

That squirrel... he's even harder to see because he's black, sitting in the shadows in the dead middle of the blacktop-covered bikepath. D.U.M.B. Plus, he's a tree squirrel and not a ground squirrel, so he has no excuse for hanging out in traffic!

My April fics list consists of exactly two ficlets, one in French that I finished at the last minute for a challenge, and one in English.
I did see the flailing go by late last week, and thought that the finishing after all on the French story constituted a major victory!

It's bound to happen, isn't it? Sooner or later. Hang in there ;-)

The monthly count was painful to reach and remains meager, but yes, I'll admit that finishing the French thingie was a huge satisfaction \0/
