Prison Break Slash Fiction: "Across A Crowded Room" (Michael/Lincoln, R)
Title: Across A Crowded Room
Author: HalfshellVenus
Characters: Michael/Lincoln (Slash)
Rating: R
Summary: Sometimes Lincoln and Michael would meet up at a bar across town. Sometimes, Lincoln pretended to be late…
Author's Notes: For fanfic100, this is "Strangers."

x-x-x-x-x

Lincoln knew what Michael looked like, with those x-rated lips and those eyes that could bore right through you—or utterly dismiss you—in just a few breathless seconds. Add that lanky physique and that tight, fuckable ass, and Michael looked like a walking wet dream.

He looked like bait.

Sometimes he and Michael would agree to meet up in a gay bar across town, walking in separately and working their way around to each other like they were strangers meeting for the first time.

Sometimes, when Lincoln was in the mood to make things interesting, he would also pretend to be late…

He never actually was—probably more to do with jealousy than over-protectiveness—but he still liked to let Michael think so. Lincoln would sneak in when Michael was looking the other way and then hang back in the crowd, hiding beneath an unlikely hat and watching men circle around Michael like wolves stalking a sheep.

Eventually he'd stuff the hat in his pocket and shoulder his way in to the rescue. It was more fun when Michael couldn't see him coming, and Lincoln revealed himself only with the sound of his voice.

"Is this guy bothering you?" he'd said one time, and it was cheesy as hell but Michael had practically creamed his jeans over it.

The expression on Michael's face when Lincoln's words rolled through the crowd and curled around him was why Lincoln sometimes slipped in unseen and just waited. Times like that, Michael looked totally, fucking hot. Lincoln would feel his skin sizzle under Michael's gaze, and with the added thrill of flirting in public (God, if people only knew they were brothers), they didn't always make it back to the car. Sometimes they were all over each other right there on the floor, lucky to get as far as the bathroom or the alley before things got frantic and dirty enough to get the two of them arrested.

Meeting up like strangers added a certain shivery thrill to the experience, as if sneaking around behind Veronica's back to fuck his own brother wasn't enough. Lincoln could never stop chasing it—the next thrill, the next dangerous possibility, whatever it took to make him feel like he was actually alive.

If that took going to the other side of Chicago and imagining Michael with other men, so be it.

When Lincoln got him back again, he'd ride him rough and leave enough marks that both of them would know Michael had always belonged to him.

Boy I do miss these boys.
Nothing like a jealous Lincoln to get your week started right!

I can see Michael's response to all that mineneedwantgottahaveit in the beautiful package of 6'1" Lincoln.

Then again I could be just projecting!

I miss them too-- and their hotness!

And jealous Lincoln definitely turns my crank-- and Michael's too.

Then again I could be just projecting!
Mmmmm, look at this icon and ask yourself that again!

Soooo ...

In my emails the first thing I see is the icon ...

My first reaction was an immediate loss of breath and then that gut stir of a sharp and instant arousal.

So when I got to the last line of your response...
I was already gone. sigh! I need some of that icon in my life. I'd settle for wallpaper though!

I remember someone saying that she couldn't get beyond the clothes Drake (Dominic here) wore in Blade 3, and all I could think was "Clothes? You're stuck on clothes when there's all that boobage packed on that glorious testosterone bomb?" ;)

What a pleasant surprise.

"Is this guy bothering you?" he'd said one time, and it was cheesy as hell but Michael had practically creamed his jeans over it.
Cheesy maybe but the way it's written, it's ridiculously hot. Thank you for planting the image, and Michael's reaction, in my mind ;)

It's so very like Lincoln to chase and enjoy this kind of thrill.

This was delicious - the longing, the heat between them, the role-playing, not to mention Lincoln 'playing' with Michael. Their desire for each other is palpable through the whole fic and yet, you never need to make things really explicit. Love this.

Maybe it's me, but I often feel like, from the two of them, Michael is the one pinning the more (not sure it's the right word so let me know if I'm not clear, here) in your fics - which fits canon. It was interesting to have your take on the situation from Lincoln's POV.

Funny how those cliches sometimes really are hot, isn't it? I think that's why whole fandom-cliche setups become cliches. :)

Both his nature and his downfall, at different times in his life, but it's who he is.

I definitely see them that way (and yes, that's the right word). Especially in S1, it was so clear that Michael was more emotionally invested in Lincoln (just like Dean with Sam in SPN) that it was too easy to see him going all the way over the edge of infatuation into reckless, doomed love (and doing stupid things because of it).

Lincoln, though, is such a constellation of lust that this turns things around but isn't quite the same flavor. Canonically speaking, I can't see him doing the kind of emotional hand-wringing that Michael is more prone to. But this kind of nearly-blind animal impulse? Oh, yes!

The thing is...if that pining wasn't welcome, either as brotherly affection/concern, or slashy lust/love, then I'm sure the object of such would make it clear that it's not welcome and/or cut ties. Just because a guy is gruff, tough, or laconic, doesn't mean he's not feeling it-and I think an elder sibling would be less inclined to show it, because they're supposed to be in charge and take care of the younger, etc.

Yes-- very much the case with Dean, for instance, where I've always thought he was the one who "felt more." But for most of the early seasons, he was so duty-bound to take care of Sam that you know he would have repressed anything he saw as potentially harmful. And he so clearly feels so much for Sam, even though his gruffness may paint a different picture.

Oh, my. I wish I could still write proper PB fic; your fics are inspiring! Yay you ^^
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: PB slashhalfshellvenus on April 16th, 2010 04:27 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much! I'm grateful to still be able to write them, especially after all the show did to make that difficult.

And what a great "flavor" Lincoln & Michael were as a pairing, not to mention my old favorite characters from earlier seasons like Pope and Westmoreland and Kellerman. :)

My word!! Without going into graphic detail you sure made a still-missing-these-boys-badly fangirl hot and bothered!!

The idea of them meeting up like strangers with Lincoln deliberately letting Michael think he was late...which cranked up the hotness with all those wolves circling...is exactly the kind of thing canon Lincoln would have done. Getting high on something was always his bag but this kind of thrill must surely rate as the best!

I believe Michael always longed for Lincoln. Even if it seemed to be on an emotional level in the show what might have happened before, as you have suggested here, seems to fit effortlessly.

Michael looked like a walking wet dream.

Oh yes!! Perfect description!

"Is this guy bothering you?" he'd said one time, and it was cheesy as hell but Michael had practically creamed his jeans over it.

If Michael creams his jeans over this it really isn't that cheesy, Lincoln!!

I do still love your Michael/Lincoln so much, sweetheart. :)

*hugs*

That's one of those interesting twists that occurs as you're writing the story-- that there's already motivation within the character for that kind of approach, and all the better if it ties into canon.

If Michael creams his jeans over this it really isn't that cheesy, Lincoln!!
It's such a bad movie-type line, but it's got that growl of protectiveness and possessiveness that you could really see setting something off in both of them.

So glad you enjoyed this, and that it's still worth reading! :)

Whoo-hoo! This was kind of kinky-dirty in a way I don't usually write, but that's part of what made it fun. Rawr!

I like this one-possessiveness is one of my kinks. :D

Mine too, clearly! I don't write it as often as I like to read it, but darned if it doesn't turn my crank. Whoo!
