Happy Birthday, frostian and sierra_foxx!
I'm late in posting for frostian, whose birthday was yesterday, and probably only U.S.-on-time for sierra_foxx since it's nearly tomorrow in Australia.

Hope you both had excellent birthdays and were duly spoiled by your loved ones.

And if either of you would like a birthday drabble, please let me know in the comments below!

On the home front, HSH is progressing through radiation therapy (which is making him sick, but not as sick as the chemo). I'm still battling the stress of working full-time and "owning" everything at home, which has its good days and bad. This weekend, it drove me to consume mass quantities of cookies and I was pretty grouchy by Sunday night, so I'd say that was one of the low spots. *sigh*

Christopher is stomping around on crutches with what we HOPE is a severely bruised toe and not a broken toe (the X-ray wasn't definitive). He and his sister were chasing each other around the house on Thursday, and he stubbed his toes on something in a way that kind of "wishboned" them. I did that once, and the toe broke clear across the base. We know his isn't that bad, if there IS a break. We and his basketball coach are keeping our fingers crossed-- Christopher started late into the season because of a broken wrist, and we don't want him leaving early. :(

We're trying to plan a trip to Hawaii for HSH and me, though it would require his sister to watch the kids during the school year. That's hugely non-ideal for her (so HSH is discussing it, and whether we can get some help from local friends). Our problem is that, other than Lauren's Girl Scout camp, I canNOT figure out how the rest of summer lines up, and we always get into conflicts with the S-I-L's plans then too. I tried weaseling some info out of the guy who runs the great 1-week basketball clinics at Sac State, to see if he knew his dates yet, but zippo. And my parents are nagging for when we'll come up to Oregon, because they want to plan a cruise. Honestly, I hate to say it, but they'll be the last to know! :0

<<>> Wow, you have a lot on your plate, dearly. I hope y'all get to go on that vacation you so richly deserve. Don't they have a more definitive way to see for sure what's going on with your boys toe? Anyways, I sned the best of vices out to you and yours.

I think the x-ray people were aiming for the "pinky" toe when the took the x-rays, and probably didn't get the perfect angle for the next toe over. But basically, if the pain goes away within about 7-10 days, it isn't broken, and the treatment is the same regardless.

I'm just hoping he won't have to miss the end of his basketball season. I'm feeling bad for his coach!

Your birthday drabble is finished, BTW-- it's the post before this one!
