Haha, any particular reason for the poll? I didn't completely hate my hair when I was little, but I didn't always like the attention it brought (when I was really young random people would stop me on the street about it and I never knew how to react). And the bee thing - totally. I've never even been stung by a bee, but they're always hanging around.

Because of your pictures (and alazysod's, I know there are some other natural redheads on my list besides me. And ezgal has red hair, whether natural or otherwise.

But mainly... I was out biking the other day, and I realized Spring is starting up in our area, and I dunno-- I average 3 stings a YEAR while biking. Someone at the office brought up the question of what my hair looks like under infrared (i.e., bee-color. Maybe it looks like "Free Eats Here!" or something).

I used to get buzzed by a hummingbird on the way into the office front door for awhile. It was better after I realized that it was not a giant insect of some kind! Ew.

My hair is black(ish) with way too much grey for my liking, so I dye it. Usually I go brown(ish), but the last box of dye I bought, to be used sometime this week, is dark auburn- does that count for anything?

Yes! You are in the "I picked the color myself" category. Probably won't get any evilBee data out of you, though. ;)

My sister's hair is naturally red and she used to hate it. I don't know if she still does, but she's always dyeing it so I figure she probably doesn't love it. She's the only one in our family with naturally red hair. Can't recall her ever having any difficulty with bees though.

Mine is like four different colours right now, with dirty blondish roots. I really should do something about it. Heh.

I'd assume the same thing ;)

It's...it's... a mark of your individuality! Yes! God, I should be in politics....

*laughs* Something like that. I'm trying to grow it out, but I get impatient. Hats work though. I've got lots of those.

Natural blonde here so I could only answer two questions. Up until August I had dyed my hair red every month or two for... I kinda wanna say six years or so. But I think it was a bit more, not positive.

However! Whenever I had my hair a brighter shade of red (Or this last time when the pink was still bright) bees loved it. Which freaked me the fuck out.

Yes the poll results so far are leaning heavily toward Bees.Are.Stupid., i.e., they can't tell worthy red (a flower) from unworthy (get away from my head! Geez!).

The hummingbird thing was almost freakier, because they're really BIG compared to an insect. And remarkably persistent. :(

Bees totally are incredibly stupid. And should be swatted.
ezgal on March 21st, 2006 10:45 pm (UTC)
Never been stung, though. :)

I was stung a couple of times as a kid, tho' I don't remember why.

As a grownup, it's mainly due to the biking. *Sigh* They hit my face and the wind pushes them up against the helmet/sunglasses and then Zowie! Or under the shirt a couple of times (!), and again-- the wind makes them panic.

The two that attacked my black bike shorts/tights... I've got no excuse for them. I guess I was the agent of Darwin those days.

Yellow jackets are worse. They will not LEAVE once they interested in me. And they're aggressive, evil little f**kers. :(

My hair is naturally redish - strawberry blond as a child, now a bit more on the brown side, but mostly I dye it darker reds or other random colours, and I've honestly never had a bee problem. My mother has RED red hair, and I think I remember her complaining about bees bothering her and buzzing around her hair when she had it longer. Mosquitos, on the other hand, eat me ALIVE, more than most people. I don't know what that has to do with anything, though ;p

Wow. You checked off the "anti-Bee" box, and no-one else did. MOST (but not all) of the redheads are plagued by bees just like your mother.

Mosquitos love my husband. I'm tasty, but less so when he's nearby, apparently. :0

Natural brunette, I've dyed red but I always stop cause the dye also dyes my scalp and then I wash red for days and ruin shirts and sheets. So there went that cause it was just too high maintaince for my blood. I'm a lazy SOB when it comes to my hair.

Explains the Allyson Hannigan icon, with the great read hair. Were you able to do the poll, or did I kill it? I was horrified to discover that the appearance changed after I filled out the poll. Maybe that's the super-secret way of closing it. Yipes!

Please. Sheets? Mess? That's just being practical. :D
