Rating: PG-13
Summary (pre-series or post-escape, your choice): Michael's free-time interests are exactly what you'd expect.
Author's Notes: Drabble Meme offering for clair_de_lune, who wanted Michael/Lincoln and a museum. Also for fanfic100, this is "Square." ;)

x-x-x-x-x

"When other people go to Washington, they see the White House and the Lincoln Memorial. Why go all that way for a museum?"

"Several museums," Michael commented. "You wouldn't believe the things they have."

"Fake dinosaurs, art and airplanes, Indian baskets, dead animals, and mummies," Lincoln rattled off.

"Yes, actually, but how—"

"Chicaco's no slouch in the museum department. Mom bought us family passes, remember? You wanted to go all the time." Lincoln snorted in afterthought: "Guess nothing's changed."

"Come along, and I'll let you grope me when no-one's looking."

"In public?"

Michael nodded.

"Huh. Okay—sign me up!"

Hey, that's a deal I wouldn't pass on either.

I actually like museums, but an "extra" like that can't HELP but improve the trip:

MMMMmmmmummies... sexy, aren't they, Michael?
Yessssss... somehow, they ARE.

I'm just relieved to have combined slash and "museum," because that prompt first made me go, "Huh?"

because that prompt first made me go, "Huh?"
It is a tricky one.

*giggles happily*

Where can *I* sign up to grope Lincoln? go to that museum, follow them around and watch?
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: PB slashhalfshellvenus on May 4th, 2009 09:51 pm (UTC)
Hee! I'd be all about the groping Lincoln too, but I think watching them go at it (from behind the strategic cover of a nearby sarcophagus) would be just as good!
Clair de Lune: pb - brothers2clair_de_lune on May 4th, 2009 09:33 pm (UTC)
How persuasive Michael can be when he wants to?

"Come along, and I'll let you grope me when no-one's looking."
"In public?"
Michael nodded.

*nods too*

I love it. It's funny and sweet, not to mention that now I can't get ouf of my mind the image of a younger Lincoln dragged to various museums.

And I'm sorry (ok, not really ;)) that I made you go "huh?" Michael and museums just go together too well. Thanks for humoring me :)
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: PB slashhalfshellvenus on May 4th, 2009 09:54 pm (UTC)
Michael definitely knows what kind of leverage to use with Lincoln (and pretty much anyone-- it's a skill). :D

Although the museum/slash combo made me go "Huh?", the idea of Michael and museums was entirely understandable. I'll bet they had to crowbar him out of the aerospace museum and planetarium nearly every weekend. :0
Clair de Lune: pb - michael3clair_de_lune on May 5th, 2009 05:33 am (UTC)
I guess I have a soft spot for that particular combo because I used it in a fic a while ago :p (if I remember correctly, you read said fic)

and pretty much anyone-- it's a skill
That is so right. Obviously, manipulative Michael was another soft spot of mines.

I would have been fine with a gen drabble but of course, I'm glad you actually made it slashy ^_^

Who could refuse and offer like that? :o)
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: PB slashhalfshellvenus on May 5th, 2009 01:02 am (UTC)
Certainly not Lincoln! Michael knows him all too well. :D

I wanna sign up too!!! While museums are interesting it really can't hurt to have an added incentive, can it? :)

And how can we not love manipulative Michael at his most persuasive?!!

Gorgeous little tale, sweetheart!
*hugs*

THIS kind of incentive would work for almost anyone, I think-- especially someone like Lincoln, who probably thinks that one mummy or Indian basket is enough for a lifetime. :0

And manipulative-Michael is SO irresistible.

So glad you liked this! I posted a much longer one about a week ago that you might like-- 6K words of pre-series M/L, which is probably the longest I'll ever get. Strangely enough, it doesn't take that long to read, but writing something that long seems to take forever. *is a wimp*

*hugs* *hopes life starts treating you better*

He really is!! But being Michael we can forgive him, huh? :)

I do get that. But you really do write gorgeous short ficlets and it fills me with wonder that you can write so much in so few words...I get terribly wordy!!

I have the fic bookmarked and added to my list of "must reads"!! And life is treating me okay, thank you, dear...except for the lack of time, as always! I must be slower than everyone else, huh?!!

I hope life is being good to you, sweetheart.
*hugs*

I'm glad life is being good to you-- I saw something on your journal a few weeks ago that had me concerned, and so I'm glad that has passed.

Busy-ness is the curse of adulthood, I'm convinced of it. I don't remember all that much of my pre-six years, but I miss them fiercely now! :0
Maz (or foxxy!): Super Squirreltuesdaeschild on May 14th, 2009 01:31 pm (UTC)
Um...life is being even better to me right now! Though it took a fall off the bath and really painful ribs (soft tissue, not cracked!) but I've got a week off sick!! Yay! I'll put up with the pain if it means I can get caught up some! Perfect opportunity to catch your fic I've got bookmarked! :)

Yes, busy-ness really is the curse of adulthood...if only we could be around six years old all our lives, huh?!! Time seemed endless back then. *sighs*

Right, off to read the fic!

*hugs*

You know that Lincoln always up for a bit of PDA!
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: PB slashhalfshellvenus on May 5th, 2009 07:09 pm (UTC)
Or really, just some pawing. I think he'd be good with that 24/7, but there's a certain added bit of kinky fun when it's in public. ;)

Sign me up, too! (For the voyeurism part, that is! LOL)

Me too! I would either rather grope Lincoln... or watch the groping of Michael occur. A lot. All over the museum!

Glad you enjoyed this-- and there was even an epic- (for me) length M/L fic recently for Sweet Charity that I posted. Longest M/L fic I've ever written, and I can safely say that record will probably stand. ;)

Rofl, you, my dear, are *magical*

Of course, when I was in DC a few months ago, we visited the Smithsonian museums too (our old university president is now Secretary of the Smithsonian!!!), but I didn't even have Lincoln's excuse ^_^. I'm just a big, silly nerd.

We also camped out on the floor of the Library of Congress for hours at a time reading through the Pearl Harbor senate hearings. Absolutely fascinating. Oh, there goes the nerd again.

Brilliant, as always!
