Because it's before midnight my time...
Today has been declared lurker amnesty day! Have you read me but never commented? Do you surf by occasionally? Here for the fic (or the horrifying random babble)? Say hello! You are under no obligation to ever comment or delurk again, but here's a chance to do so in a post just for that.

Guilty ;D

:D It's always nice to know what people are reading (or why), especially since my two fandoms exploded into about 6-7 in the last year or so. I can't imagine they're mostly here for the blathering. ;)

Hi! Have a cookie! And an icon based on that same picture (boy, that picture with the hand over the heart just does things to me).

I have commented but it does not happen very often I consider my self a semi-lurker. Hi!
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Yay!halfshellvenus on May 1st, 2009 04:54 pm (UTC)
Hi, Daybright! That's a new icon-- I'm used to the elephant one. I have a soft spot for the elephant. ;)
daybright: Jellaby Squeedaybright on May 2nd, 2009 01:09 am (UTC)
I'm partial to pink elephants(bonus points if they have wings) so I use that as my default. This is Jellaby (look him/it up in comic book store near you he is just adorable) Jellaby helps me squee!

I have to admit that several of the "baby" versions of Pokemon characters are very cute to me. Squirtle, the charmander thingy, Pikachu, Shaymin (the hedgehog), and there are a bunch of others that aren't clearly any particular kind of animal at all.

This one vaguely reminds me of Squirtle!

My son inherited a Squirtle from his cousin, and he independently named it that (it was a bath toy) without realizing that was actually its name!

Hi! I love your fic and have got most (not prison break because I don't watch it) of your it saved on my hard drive : )

I stop by everyday (in my lurker's cloak so you never see me) to see what's new. I hope halfshellhusband is better.
peanutgallery79peanutgallery79 on May 1st, 2009 05:37 pm (UTC)
that second ~your~ shouldn't be there *headdesk*
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on May 1st, 2009 05:54 pm (UTC)
Thank you, Peanut! (what a perfect icon for your username, BTW)

I'm glad you enjoy my stories so much-- that's wonderful to hear. Very inspiring!

Halfshellhusband might have some progress in the coming week. His doctor finally decided to revisit the site of the original swelling/pain and had the knee area xrayed, and the results showed an "abnormality." That's good news-- there'll be an MRI soon to follow up, and we're hoping it'll pin down a diagnosis. The doctor is currently leaning toward stress-fracture (remembering the Disneyland trip makes me cringe, if it's that), or possibly an infection of the "sheath" that covers the bone area.

*keeping my fingers crossed* Thanks for asking!

Hi! *waves*

I suppose I'd have to classify myself as a semi-stalker, seeing as I check in on your LJ frequently for your SPN fic. *is now outed* :)
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Sam & Dean Genhalfshellvenus on May 1st, 2009 07:37 pm (UTC)
:D Glad you're enjoying the stories! And I'm glad you showed up for last week's discussion, too. :)
blackcat333_99blackcat333_99 on May 1st, 2009 10:10 pm (UTC)
I'm always down for good discussion. Different opinions and perspectives help me think harder on some of my own perspectives. Sometimes I change my mind, sometimes I don't. It's all good. :)

And the fic is REALLY good. I don't feedback enough. Bad me.

I probably should go ahead and just friend you, seeing how often I do actually check in. *friends you*

Ok so I'm a pass fail on lurk status.
But I did want to say thank you for the intro to Die Hard 4 fandom.
I haven't been this excited about a pairing since I took to J2.
Huggles you! Thanks for bringing me the good stuff!
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: John/Matt Lovehalfshellvenus on May 2nd, 2009 07:13 pm (UTC)
Ooh, I've got you hooked on Die Hard 4? There is SO much good stuff for that pairing-- anything by megyal or poisontaster or the things at my delicious account (same name) are wonderful! Plus too many I haven't read yet. :0

Unfortunately, you haven't been lurking so much (I think) as MIA, so it's nice to have you back! Though I can't complain if RL has been too fun to allow you the time. :D
tyricaltyrical on May 5th, 2009 02:35 pm (UTC)
First thing I did was fish Delish!
I didn't know you were there! I added you to my network. :is pleased: I now have 3 people in my network!

I have discovered poisontaster her "Dying is Easy" is addictive and I want more and megyal prompts are ridic! I love'em. I want "If You Could Only See" fic into a !verse. I loved the thought of them as a team working undercover!

I was seduced by
utopiantrunks epic fic "That Guy!" Gosh that is such a good series. Which I'm sure you read already but if not! Do!

Thanks again.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: John/Matt Lovehalfshellvenus on May 5th, 2009 05:43 pm (UTC)
Oh good, you found my stuff over there? There are a couple of really great DH4 authors who don't write all that often, and I think delicious is where I wound up saving their stuff.

There's an outstanding Xmas story (hilarious) with Matt shopping with Lucy that eventually becomes slash, and several great one-shots too.

I have read "That Guy!," and since utopiantrunks tends to post multi-part things I typically wait until all the parts are posted.

Gosh, I'm so far behind. I have this lengthy half-done John/Matt thing of my own I'd still love to finish, and all these fics by other authors that I haven't even read yet. I went on a binge a few months ago and got caught up, but it didn't last. Still, better than having NO-one but me writing the pairing (like Tony/Rhodey). :)

Haven't forgotten your drabble, BTW. Looking for some inspiration on it. :D

Hi, I like to check out your SPN episode reviews and fanfic.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on May 4th, 2009 10:28 pm (UTC)
Good to know! Do you read the episode reviews "ahead" (running a spoiler risk), or are you watching more-or-less real time?

I pretty much always use a spoiler cut, but some people don't mind being spoiled anyway. :)
shang_yietshang_yiet on May 5th, 2009 08:50 am (UTC)
I can't watch in real time even if I want to since I live outside the US and have to wait for youtube or wait hours to download myself. I don't mind being spoiled because I cannot wait that long to find out how other fans feel about an episode.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on May 5th, 2009 05:40 pm (UTC)
Looks like you're in the same boat with several other people on my f-list, who have to wait (sometimes days), but don't mind being spoiled.

Do you know about the spnfencentral comm? They usually have an episode download available within a day or two (LOTS of members outside the U.S.), and that has to be better than waiting for a Torrent upload to be posted and then downloading the pieces in slow, painful chunks.

Your English is marvelous, BTW. :)
