Down 10 pounds! \o/
On the flip side, today in particular (perhaps for hormonal reasons), I could eat the walls of my cubicle. :0

You know how people talk about having "so much energy" when they lose weight? Hah! I'm pretty tired right now. After having my thryoid medication lowered and thanks to not eating sugar in the evenings, I really feel the effects of my exercise (which is the same as always, i.e., strenuous). I dream of the day when I will actually witness the last 10 minutes of 24! Or be able to write after dark. Seriously, I'm only awake now on the night of my no-exercise day. :0

Watched the Season One Burn Notice finale. What a great opening season—so much fun. Netflix, how do you not have S2 available yet? *pouts*

We saw Slumdog Millionaire this weekend, and badboy_fangirl was right. I loved it. It was nothing like what I expected. The story-telling involves extensive flashbacks, so it feels less linear than it actually is. The main character, who grew up in a Mumbai slum with his older brother, has found and lost the same girl (also from the slums) many times over the years. He goes on the Indian "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" in hopes of her finding him again. It's a captivating story, and moves along quickly. Very worth seeing! Although you may find yourself, like me, occasionally wondering why the story seems to star Michael Phelps. ;)

This week: I have a present to finish (please cooperate, you stupid would-be-drabble), I hope to make headway on my Iron Man story, and dig into any one of my half-finished SPN Sam/Dean stories. :0

Congrats on the weight loss!
P.S. - Your icon is adorable.

Thank you, Kim!

And for the icon, the original picture was somebody else's cheerleader cat where I added the text. For me, that's a big deal because I'm pretty challenged in the graphics dept. Although I made the one in this post too-- just shrinkage, really. ;)

Glad you enjoyed Burn Notice - i think it is one fo those rare shows that really achieves what it sets out to do so well. S2 is still airing so i imagine the dvds will be a while yet!

I thought S3 was about to start! Darn it-- I need MOAR MOAR MOAR.

Must I be driven to Torrent yet again. :0

Good onya with the weight loss!

I knew you would love SM! I loved the format. Best Picture Oscar, here it comes! and LOL! That's who the main character reminded me of! Michael Phelps! :D

Burn Notice S2 isn't out on DVD yet because it's not over yet. They just got back from hiatus three weeks ago. Thursdays at 10 on USA. You could probably catch a marathon at some point. By the by, do you think Sam and Michael have sexual chemistry?

The format was fantastic-- very creative, very distinctive. I loved how the story unfolded. Though the phrase "chai wallah" has been stuck in my head for days now. ;)

We don't have cable, so I live in hope that shows I pick up are farther along in the DVD release cycle. Is Fiona still painfully bony in S2? She's kind of knobby in S1, and I don't know why she's so skinny.

I hate to admit this, but I tend less often to see sexual chemistry when one of the people is 'unattractive' to me. Sam has a great face, but he's very unsexy (on purpose-- those non-stop Hawaiian shirts are there for a reason!). But on the other hand, I think Michael has a little bit of sexual chemistry with almost anyone, including most men, and especially with those he's about to con or burn in the very near future. It's almost cracktastic, the way he starts yukking it up with someone whom you know will be furious with him in about five more minutes. :0

Yes, Gabrielle Anwar is painfully thin, still in S2. It's really too bad, because I just love her. I'd really like for her to eat a cheeseburger or three.

I understand your response (or lack thereof to Sam), because while I like him a great deal, yeah, not attractive. As for Michael's universal chemistry (sort of reminiscent of Scott Bakula on Quantum Leap), I remember the episode with Lucy Lawless from S1 and how irritated I was that there was so much chemistry between them (being a Mike/Fi shipper, that is). But you're right, and it's necessary because there are so many guest stars. He has to be so versatile.

Anyway, glad there's another Burn Notice fan on the f-list, but sad you're way behind *g*

I actually like that it's part of his 'technique,' including that "Instant Mr. Friendly" and some of his other ploys. The S1 episode where he was trying to slow down some bounty hunter for Fi, and when the guy bangs into him he says "Duuuuuuude! Duuu--" and cuts it off mid-lament when it's clear the guy's ignoring him... that totally cracked me up!

Out of curiosity, do you ship couples for most of the shows you watch? I know you mentioned that you also shipped a pairing on Life On Mars.

I really tend not to. Burn Notice might as well be Gen to me, along with most of the shows I watch. Relationships happen or they don't, but I'm not emotionally invested in them. For 'House,' I kind of liked House/Wilson (slash) as a pairing in S1, but not heavily, and I can see the appeal of Cuddy/Wilson, but I don't exactly "ship" them. For "Bones," there are no pairings I like (though maybe one or two I dislike), but it's not even a major part of the show to me (and I'm sure most people are watching as Brennan/Booth shippers).

No 'ships on any of the Law and Order shows, nothing for 24 or the Sarah Connor Chronicles... though I do think that for that last show, Mr. Former-FBI Velvet and Miss Scottish Skynet Queen's voices in dialogue might be an OTP for me. Heaven knows I want that pairing out of all proportion to its importance or relevance to the show. :0

Anyway, glad there's another Burn Notice fan on the f-list, but sad you're way behind *g*
I really hate the period when a season is still airing that I really only have access to via DVD. Because I don't want to wait!

No, I don't have ships on all my shows...like you mention Sarah Connor, and in the beginning I thought I might ship Sarah/Derek but nothing ever really came of it, and I still really like it and am invested in it. Now, I'm making a mental list of the other shows I watch and never miss...I like Medium, but don't really think of it as shipping since the main couple is married already. On ER the ship I'm most invested in--Ray/Neela--Ray isn't even on the show anymore. Life on Mars sorta ruined Sam/Annie for me when they had him screw the boss's daughter. I'm still in limbo about how I feel about that. I wasn't as interested in last night's episode.

And of course all my ships on Prison Break are either dead or not real to begin with, so...

I would say of all my shows, my investment in the ship aspect is very high with Lost (Sawyer/Kate) and Burn Notice, but everything else is secondary. Although, if ER ends without giving me Ray/Neela, I may never forgive the writers.

There is this one episode from this season where he plays an asthmatic, with an inhaler and everything, and he has this real high-pitched voice, and OMG, it's the funniest episode ever. I was rolling the entire time. (Not that asthma is funny, just when Michael does it!)

Thank you! And normally takes on the order of about 3-4 months to accomplish, so this is especially nice. :)
