*takes a deep breath* What a relief-- and this one's on the long side for me, which of course is why it took so freakin' long. I thought it'd be done in a week, and I started early!
We're driving up to Oregon today, and nervously eyeing the weather forecasts for the next few days. Part of I-5 was shut north of Grants Pass for a few hours yesterday, due to 1) blizzard conditions and 2) needing to clear all the spinouts off the freeway so people could use it for actual driving. I really hope things go smoothly, if slowly. We have chains, and we'll be able to leave around 3:30-4pm today. Wish it could be earlier, but Lauren's class is having a holiday party right up until 3pm (thanks. A lot). :(
Our goal is to be back late on the 23rd, though I've packed medications through 12/29 in case things do not go well (seriously-- storm weather all the way from Redding to Eugene for days on end). I'm a little worried both about making it UP to Eugene and also making it BACK on time.
For those who chimed in yesterday, the new biscotti recipe worked out really well, thanks to the new directions to drop the batter right onto the tray and my work friend's advice to shape it AFTER wetting my hands.
gatheringlight, I'm probably going to miss your birthday, and I'm sorry! I'll be thinking of you, and I'll pile on when I get back. That is also my sister's birthday, and so a very special day for two reasons now. :) And fiery_fox2 already knows that my return for her birthday is iffy, but I hope to remedy that later!
Hope to be posting again before Christmas, but if not, Happy Holidays to one and all! ♥
