Flickr Photo Meme
The Flickr photo meme-- and boy, did some of these turn out weird...

The Rules:
1. Answer each of the questions below using Flickr Search.
2. Choose a photo from the first three pages.
3. Copy the URL of your favorite photo into this site: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/mosaic.php
4. Then share with the world

The questions: (I didn't promise you answers!)
01. First Name:
02. Favourite Food:
03. Hometown:
04. Favourite Color:
05. Celebrity Crush:
06. Favourite Drink:
07. Dream Holiday:
08. Favourite Dessert:
09. What I Want To Be When I Grow Up:
10. What I Love Most In The World:
11. One Word That Describes Me:
12. My LiveJournal Name:

I had no idea that my first name was the same as a Burmese tribe-- the people who like to stretch their necks up with hoops. Then for #11... for the people posting pictures that corresponded to what I picked, "I do not think that word means what you think it means."

And how funny that the only Flickr image for my username was a picture from my Hedgie post that someone had saved off to contrast with their own little hedgehog! If I use just the "Venus" part of my name, I get redundancy, the obvious, in the neighborhood of obvious, and various astronomies. But there's also this, which is kind of fabulous, I think!

I was about to ask what a stuffed hedgie had to do with halfshellvenues, but....ok. :-)
Pretty, Pretty Jensen pictures!
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on November 30th, 2008 08:32 am (UTC)
Isn't the hedgie part funny? I tried all three choices of "relevant, recent, interesting" and there was only the one choice! On Google Images, you'll get all of my userpics and the userpics of people who list me as a friend, etc., etc. :D Still no 'me' in there.

That was one of the few pretty Jensen pictures I could find-- his hair is SO choppy these days, and the tons of Creation Con candid photos are really clogging up the choices right now. On the other hand, I see that someone has done a manip of him as Aragorn. :0

I recognize that building. I'm not crazy am I? No, I definitely do.

NOW I WANT THE ANSWERS REALLY BADLY.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on November 30th, 2008 08:41 am (UTC)
Hee! You've probably seen it-- its nickname is "The Emerald City," and it's my favorite building in this hometown I'm stuck in now. Locals sometimes mock it, but I think it's gorgeous. It's also right off the freeway. ;)

*is so mysterious and annoying* :0

Oh my, your dessert looks delicious! (Haha, I keep reading people's and getting hungry. Oy.) Hee, thanks for explaining the hedgehog. I was like, "What? Hedgehog =\= halfshellvenus!"

I like your #11 picture, even if I'm not exactly sure what it means. Enlightened? :)
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphorshalfshellvenus on November 30th, 2008 09:23 am (UTC)
All the food looks delicious in all of them-- though chocolate is my weakness. It made the first spot, and then the "dessert" one in a really specific form. *dies*

The hedgehog thing was really strange, because "Huh?" was my first thought too. And that was the only choice! I guess the Flickr person really liked that particular picture from my picspam (Baby Hedgie, the most beloved of Christopher's Hedgies), so he/she saved it off.

The #11 picture was my best choice for "Empathetic," just because most of them were really bad modern art (including 'process' photos). A bunch of silk-box 'rabbits' on strings does not convey empathy to me in any way! I tend to think that people don't actually understand what that word means. :0

However, that picture was pretty neat!

Yeah, it's the dessert one that's really killing me right now. *grabby hands*

Hee, at least it's a cute hedgie. What a weird picture, though, for someone to have gotten off one of your picspams. Kinda random, y'know?

Ah, okay. And yeah, empathetic's a tricky word. I see it misused a lot when it's confused for sympathetic, which, okay, similar, but not exactly the same thing.

I agree! I like that picture! :D

If you enter my username at Flickr and follow the hedgie picture, you'll see a live Hedgie picture below it. Maybe he reminded them of their real Hedgie? I did laud him as the cutest toy hedgehog ever. :D

I could have understood lots of pictures of sympathetic-looking people, because that would have been pretty close. But the freaky 'art' stuff? And then the "Here are my stages of me making my silk box 'rabbits' for my art" pictures? Too much crowding out with the wrong information!

Aw! That real hedgie is awful cute with the little yellow flower in her (his?) quills. I typed in your username and there were a bunch of ads off to the side "Would you like to purchase venus on the halfshell? Please go here!" lol.

And I entered empathetic, too, and wow, yeah, I don't know about that one. Not sure what's up with Mr. Silk Box Rabbits. Maybe he put empathetic as a tag because he was understanding them...trying to get in touch with his inner rabbit...? How crazy!

It doesn't even work if you imagine he thought the word meant "emphatic." Seriously, I have no idea what's going on in that guy's head.

Except that he's oddly impressed with his 'art.' :0

Well. Um. Let's just hope he never visits the Bunny Museum in CA. I think he'd have a little bit too much fun. Probably would wet himself in glee, really.

Isn't that pretty? Most of the pictures that came up were fairly bizarre, but that one was so unusual. Most mazes are kind of boxy, but that one's curvy and somehow graceful. :)

I love pic #4. Really pretty.

Isn't that gorgeous? I couldn't resist it, because the reason blue is my favorite color is that... it's blue! :)

you want to be a maze when you grow up? :D

i am somehow not surprised that your username brings up a hedge.... heee. lovely pic of jensen, too. i saw that manip of him as aragorn and had a wtf? moment. sadly my celebrity crush only had thirteen pics on flickr using his full name, and none of them were really good, so i tried a shortened form and got ONE. hmph.

I already AM grown up, and I like the job I have now. So I picked "a genius," which was vague. And most of the pictures were vague too. ;)

Who was it? I so nearly went for Hugh Jackman (would've had tons of pics to choose from right now), and three years ago I would've picked Dominic Purcell. Though Zachary Levi is kind of a recent obsession too. :0

cindytsuki_no_bara on December 1st, 2008 03:18 am (UTC)
alexander skarsgard. six-four and swedish. :D (i went with "alex skarsgard" in the flickr search and got ONE pic from when he was filming generation kill. apparently no one is aware of his tall hotness. *sigh*)

who's zachary levi?
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: DominicSexyhalfshellvenus on December 1st, 2008 06:12 am (UTC)
Zachary Levi is the star of "Chuck," and he has a variety of looks: a little scruffy, this picture from the show, smoldering, Comic Con, and blow-dried photo-op.

He's not classically beautiful like Jensen, but he's got those brooding good looks and then that blinding smile. Generally, he's smiling. And his personality is kind of adorable.

Whereas Dominic Purcell is the guy in this icon here-- whoo! I miss the days when his TV characters had hair. :0
cindytsuki_no_bara on December 1st, 2008 06:32 am (UTC)
he looks like a nice jewish boy! (and i mean that in a good way.) he's very cute, and he scruffs up nice. and he has a fabulous smile.

i remember dominic purcell from john doe. he also looks good scruffy. i think i've seen one random episode of prison break, from s1, and he looked kind of weird without hair.

I suspect his Mom is Jewish, because "Levi" is his middle name- his last name is "Pugh," which is Welsh. He could as easily be of my people, with some of the same scruffy/broody appeal of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (with the stubble). But his personality is adorable, regardless (the broody/moody thing must be for photo-ops, because I don't think it sticks much).

John Doe was where he really caught my attention (he looked fantastic, and his character was very appealing). He actually looks pretty good with head-stubble for definition, but not so good entirely bald. For instance, this "Blade III" icon is much like the look he was sporting in S2 of Prison Break.
