What I Wrote In September...
Not a ton of stories last month (though several fandoms, thanks to the Fall Fandom Free-For-All).

But one of the biggest accomplishments in the last two months was the revival and completion of many stories that were stalled out for anywhere from 2 years to 3 months). I'll put stars next to the ones for this month. Boy, it feels good to finish things that started well but then died midway through!

Supernatural Gen:
If Words Could Make The Truth (PG-13) Post-"Nightmares" for spn_nostalgia, Dean tries to prove to Sam that he's not afraid of Sam's new powers.
Turn At Last To Death's Ordinary Door (PG-13), Remix Dean, Sam, Bobby, Ellen, Others. In the years after Dean's death, everything goes to Hell for Sam and the other hunters.
** Even Eden Fell (PG-13) S2 "Croatoan" Sarge-centered fic. The end of the world always happens on a personal basis.

Supernatural Slash:
Already Waited Too Long (PG-13) (S4 premiere) It doesn't matter how, it only matters that both of them are here (drabble for grayscaled).
These Fragile Lies (PG-13) Sam's at Stanford, and there are so many things Dean swears he doesn't miss... (drabble for black_regalia).

Prison Break Gen/Other:
** Trouble Comes Around (PG-13) (S2) Even on the run, Lincoln's mistakes still have a way of finding him. For philosophy_20.
Noble Theories, Revised Outcomes (PG) (S1) Lots of theories have exceptions. Henry Pope just didn't expect this to be one of them. For philosophy_20.

Other Fandoms, etc.:
InQsitiveness (PG-13) (Picard/Q one-sided) Picard's Risa vacation keeps getting more interesting all the time.
The Properties Of Delayed Combustion (NC-17) Tony/Rhodey IronMan Slash. Tony Stark always manages to keep Jim Rhodes off-balance.

I still need to read the two fics you asked me to. *face palms*

Still hoping you will! They're both on this list, and the "Sarge" one is reasonably short by your terms. ;)

You mean it's not a 6,000 word "ficlet"? I'm so shocked... ;-P

Haha! 6000 words constitutes major length, for me!

I'd wondered why that remix took so long to finish, and when I did the final word count it was ~4500-- which is in the "long" range for me. :D

So I probably shouldn't tell you about the chapter I've been struggling with for the last two weeks. The last time I checked word count, it was at the 8600 mark.

*face palms*

I'm taking some days off when I send the damn thing to beta, and your fic is right on the top of my to-read list. ;-P

I envy this, honestly. It's a problem for me as a reader (because I never have that kind of time!), but as a writer... I don't think I've hit the 8K mark yet. :0

Whereas I envy your ability to deliver a punch to the gut in 100 words. ;-P

I admire you for finishing stuff. I tend to delete it when I figure I'm not going to finish it and then regret it several months down the track.

I wish I had your staying power

Some of them, if I leave them long enough, when I re-read them I'm surprised that they're better than I remembered.

The one Prison Break one above-- that went dormant for nearly 2 years, and I kept coming back to it (because it was specifically for a challenge) and going through the "Why are you hung up? For the love of god, why won't you finish?"

So perhaps... your method is less frustrating overall. ;)
