Is Nervous...
Nearly got eaten by the jury system today. I made it into the box after several rounds of dismissals, and very nearly didn't get out! It was an investor fraud criminal case, and I don't have any major mitigating factors to get thrown out of that one. Fortunately, the prosecutor freed me on a pre-emptory challenge. That would have been a 4-week trial, and I'd have had to log in at night and work every evening to keep our project schedule from derailing. Being the team expert provides job security, but it also has its down side. :0

Caught The Sarah Connor Chronicles last night, which was better than how the prior season ended, IMO. The last episode of S1 was a lot of flailing around and "What? What's going on now?" This had more of a coherent plot thread, i.e.,

Robots can't lie. Or CAN they?

Ponytail Woman could be pretty without the ponytail, and if she cottoned onto brown eyeliner and mascara to suit her coloring. Lovely Scottish accent, though.

Tonight? Fringe. Whatever that's about. Assuming I can tear myself away from the work stuff (background code building even now!)

Ponytail Woman is Shirley Manson who sang for Garbage, so the eyeliner is probably here to stay.

Awww.

Great singing voice, and even better speaking voice, though.

i was always told the best way to get out of jury duty was to wear a smart suit and carry a reputable newspaper. lawyers don't want smart people on the jury who might ask smart questions.

In this case, it was an investor fraud case with lots of evidence and documents. So someone smart is actually desireable. :0

And the defense attorney made it clear that he didn't want any sheep, because the U.S. government is taking on his client and sheep will conform to the "Well, the government's probably right" idea. :0
