Supernatural Gen Drabble: You Bring It On Yourself (PG) for Janissa11
Title: You Bring It On Yourself
Author: HalfshellVenus
Characters: Sam and Dean (Gen, Humor, Drabble)
Rating: PG
Summary: Yet another thing for the boys to argue about.
Author's Notes: A very happy belated birthday to janissa11—I hope you had a wonderful time, and I'm sorry I missed it.
Also for 100_ghosts, this is "Jack."

x-x-x-x-x

"You never told me you were this gay."

Dean and movies equals talking. It's distracting— even when Dean's not trying to start something up like now.

"What're you babbling about?" Sam deadpans, stalling. His escapism's already being threatened.

"How you totally have the hots for Johnny Depp— and here I thought Orlando Bloom was more your type."

"I don't have a type, Dean, unless it's the silent type because that would definitely be good."

"But you can't take your eyes off him!"

"Does 'freak-show' mean anything to you? Why would you assume— Oh."

"What?"

"I'm not the one who's obsessed…"

Welcome back, and why, oh why, can't they have arguments like this on the CW?? Would definitely make for more interesting episodes.

I would kill for something this random on the show, and especially for a little give-and-take where Sam gets a chance to tweak Dean like this instead of Dean mostly getting him. ;)

Yes, why is it that Dean seems to have negotiated that part of their contract for his own benefit? Unless, of course, Sam is letting him win. Because a happy Dean is a good thing.

Sam's clever enough for that, but I suspect it's just that he's bought into the reputation that he's fussy/picky/overly-dramatic from years of hearing it from his Dad and then Dean. So Sam's traits are usually the ones open for picking on.

Until Dean walks right into the trap he laid for himself without even realizing it. ;)

Dean will be changing the channel any minute now ;) And Johnny Depp is hot enough for even Dean to notice! LOL!

Exactly! Lest Sam think that the idea is actually true. :0

And project onto someone else. ;)

*snickers*

I love that Dean can't keep quiet during movies. I can totally see him being that way.

Nicely done.

Oh, me too. And Sam just wanting him to shut the hell up over and over again. The only thing worse than constant talking is when the talking is random and rambling all the time (just like my son!). :0

LOL! Well, if it makes you feel any better, I used to ramble a lot during movies when I was younger. I got much better about it. (Although not until I was out of high school, so maybe that won't help you with your son. *g*)

"does 'freak-show' mean anything to you?" heee. and sam clearly thinks dean's masculinity is no match for johnny depp's... deppness. *snicker*

I just love that Dean assumes Sam's boggling is interest, because that really does say more about Dean than Sam.

Sometimes the Freudianism is actually true. ;)

What does it say about Dean? That he only knows of one reason to pay attention to someone?
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Sam & Dean Genhalfshellvenus on August 19th, 2008 05:51 pm (UTC)
Sadly, yes! :0

I often think Dean doesn't like people much, other than his family and those (Bobby) that are like family to him. Everyone else is either useful (sex! food!) or not, much of the time. Not always-- I remember the shine he took to Mandroid Guy before said person met his doom. ;)

*snickers* This is too cute. Bickering Boys.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Sam & Dean Genhalfshellvenus on August 18th, 2008 05:46 am (UTC)
And Dean's total inability to shut up before he digs a hole for himself. \o/

Glad you liked it! :D

I believe the phrase "Me thinks thou dos't protest too much" applies here. Again..giggle worthy and thanx for sharing. =)

It does entirely-- that phrase almost made it into the title, in fact. ;)

So glad you liked this one- thank you!

ahaha good turn around Sammy! Lol this was good :)

I love how Dean opens the door to these things and never sees where they'll wind up going! He's a mystery even to himself. ;)

Glad you liked it!
auroramama on August 19th, 2008 01:38 pm (UTC)
A mystery to himself -- yes, exactly! Come on, it's tough to carry off that much denial if you're introspecting. (Even Sam doesn't really analyze his own thoughts; he lets himself get caught up in reacting, but the thinking seems to happen on some other level while he's busy being emo.)

Dean, on the other hand, is like the anti-Satchel Paige: don't look forward, something might be waiting to slow you down.

Oh. dear. God. How did you end up on the ceiling at our house?

No, seriously, my husband and I had a similar conversation over "Doctor Who" the finale for this season.

*snort* I'm obsessed with John Barrowman - suuure.

Love it! Great job!

Hee-- who isn't? I don't even watch the show, but that man is dazzlingly handsome to me. And apparently to your husband as well. ;)

I can so easily see Dean tripping himself up like this, where already he's embarrassed himself by implication when all he meant to do was yank Sam's chain. :D
janissa11: deanflowerjanissa11 on August 19th, 2008 12:03 pm (UTC)
Heee! Dean, honey, you just walked yourself right into that one. *cackling* Aw, thank you, honey! *hugs!*
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Birthdayhalfshellvenus on August 19th, 2008 05:52 pm (UTC)
You're so welcome! I'm sorry I was gone on your birthday (always am, it seems), but I definitely didn't forget you. I had three of the four birthday drabbles written on the drive up I-5 on the first day of vacation! Whoo!
ErinRua: brotherserinrua on August 20th, 2008 05:40 am (UTC)
BUAHAHAHA!

Go ahead, Dean. Stick the other foot in.

*giggles as Sam wets his finger and strokes a "one" in the air*

Hee!
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Sam & Dean Genhalfshellvenus on August 20th, 2008 07:22 pm (UTC)
Stick the other foot in.
Those are some of my favorite moments on the show, honestly. :D

I love that Dean bothers Sam for the hell of it, and nukes himself instead. Irony comes to pay Dean a visit, and oh how he deserves it. ;)
