Hmmm-Bork-Bork-Bork!
Good heavens. Of all the songs that could get stuck in a person's head (and do), HOW does the Swedish Chef manage to rate? :0

Yööödiiidööödidöööö... :D (I have no idea how to transcript that song into phonetic sounds :D )

Haha!

I only remember some of the Swedish Chef lyrics, since they're all fake-Swedish anyway, but there's "Hmmm-di-disker-du" and the capper of "Hmmm-bork-bork-bork!"

Hee, yes! *giggles* Oh, I love the Muppets.

Oh, I love the Muppets.
I really liked Beaker, who always looked so horrified, and the two geezers in the balcony and the eagle modeled after Richard Nixon.

But the Swedish Chef was my favorite. It's hard to resist someone whose instructions include things like "Dis-ford-de-sneaky-grover" and who winds up throwing food every which way. ;)

My favourites were the Chef (for the same reasons you liked him :D ), Waldorf and Statler and I have a weak spot for Miss Piggy :-) And Animal!

The Muppets Christmas Carol is actually my very favourite adaption of the story :-)

And Animal!
I forgot about Animal! And Gonzo. :)

I don't think we've seen the Muppet Christmas Carol. Muppets' Treasure Island was much funnier than I expected, and we rented Muppets Take Manhattan a few weeks ago only to discover that the last renter had stomped the disk or something and it was cracked. :0

Must try again!

*will never let it go*
Ha ha! Clearly!

A lot of songs that get stuck in my head are things I don't want there. Others have a propensity for it (I had to explain to my husband that although I like Blood Sweat & Tears' "Hi-Di-Ho" (or whatever it's called), I usually avoid listening to it because it gets stuck for hours.

So all I've had on my Internal Jukebox since is ella, ella, ella, ella

Mwah-ha-ha! *is blissfully unfamiliar with this song*

:D

It's got to rate pretty high on the likelihood scale. I tend to randomly find myself singing "Everybody wants to be a Cat" from 'The Aristocats' or humming a tune from 'Peter and the Wolf' (the Disney short runs through my head for that one, too).

I think the Swedish Chef rates higher than those!

Oh my god, I saw the most bizarre PBS special of that a few weeks ago. It was almost a "Peter at the Gulag" kind of setting, and just incredibly weird. Some animated thingy where the crusty creations distracted from the music.

I think the Swedish Chef rates higher than those!
At least he's not a TV commercial! \o/

I currently have this stuck in my head because Shoppers Drug Mart likes to torture its employees.

This song should never have even been recorded, let alone played several times a day on our store playlist.

Yark. I hate the "pop" genre of music SO MUCH. It's treacly dreck!

Hee.

Did you happen to see the "Danny Boy" clip I posted on St Patrick's Day? Featuring the Swedish Chef, Beaker and Animal. Very fun.

I missed it, so I went backtracking to find it (here for those playing along at home).

Oh, that was hilarious! Especially the unique lyrics, where the Chef's are de-ford-de-bork-ified, Animal's are minimalistic, and I'd forgotten that Beaker never talks-- he only screams!

Ah... nothing like a torpedo to the classics, I always say. ;)

It's the weeping that cracks me up.

The Muppets were the height of comic entertainment when I was a kid. Sam and Rolf's version of "Tit Willow" from The Mikado is the only reason I let myself be convinced to see that opera when I was fifteen years old, lol!

o_O...
Oh. My. GOD!
The SWEDISH CHEF?! My father can imitate him perfectly...and yes, I know how that song can get stuck in your head, because it's also been in mine since 8 AM this morning when I watched him appear on Sesame Street....
*grin*
Later!

So you UNDERSTAND how this can happen, then, clearly! \o/
