Merry Christmas, one and all!

It's closing on midnight, and we're heading up to Oregon tomorrow so I've got to go to bed. But I wanted to wish all of you holiday greetings today, and the best to you and your loved ones. I hope you all have time to enjoy the people who matter to you during these weeks. ♥

Today was scarlett_o's birthday (yayyyy!!!), and I'll be offline when eponin10's birthday comes around on Thursday, so I'm getting my wishes in now. I hope you have a lovely birthday, Joy, and that everyone is healthy and able to appreciate you fittingly on your special day. :)

We're driving up to my parents' tomorrow (*crosses fingers against highway closures*), and I'll be basically Internet-free until around New Year's Day. :( Let me say that again. :( My dad has dial-up, and that's the same as no Interwebs for the most part. And my laptop doesn't have wireless (it's the company PC, and wireless is a no-no). So I'm falling off the net for several days on end.

After too much eating (my god, the chocolates alone *groans*) and some preliminary packing, we capped off the night by watching House, M.D. This was the episode that other people probably think of as "where we meet Gregory House's parents," but which I instead think of as "where the black character-actor Dad breaks my heart and drives me to Imdb.com to look him up, and boggle over why he doesn't get higher-profile work." Seriously-- the actor is Clifton Powell, and his performance in this episode is fantastic. It floors me every time (this is viewing #3). For me, the entire episode is all about him...

And there's a lesson in there for us all, I'm sure. ;)
