Lj Idol Farewell Speech

First, I want to say how much I've enjoyed being part of LJ Idol. I expected to be voted out around week 5 or 6, and never imagined I would squeak into the Top 10.

A few friends coaxed me into trying Idol, and I wanted to stretch myself as I writer, so I thought, Why not? I had written fanfic for 7 years when I signed up, but only a siingle Original Fiction story. This seemed like a great opportunity to try doing more original fiction, and at the end of week 35 it looks as if I got 28 more fiction stories out of it, which pleases me greatly. I tried out a lot of different genres, including the obvious humor and drama entries. But I also did a fable, a police procedural, several dystopian stories, horror (! Twice, even!), fantasy, poetry, and Sci-Fi. Plus, you all showed me that a person CAN by god write Crack and have it be enjoyed. :D
