Cycling

I B Biking Soon...

But I thought I'd post about some things from past rides. ;)

My office is close to lots of rural areas, and the choices tend toward either that or a LOT of freakin' stoplights (which are annoying).

I've mentioned the smell of strawberries from farms along my rides—I expect some of that today! Along one road I often take, someone cut down the eucalyptus grove at the corner ( my "landmark"! Boo), but on Tuesday I noticed that there's another eucalyptus farther up the road. The smell of sun-baked menthol was what caught my attention. Mmmm-mmm-mmmm.

There's been a "Bunnies For Sale" sign nearby, this past year. I hope those are bunnies for petting and not for eating. :( There are pygmy goats across the way, and farther up is a place where some fancy-pants chickens have a tiny house and a solar-panel power source. I don't know why I blame the chickens for that, but I do.

I turn at that corner, and pass a good-sized property with a big house and grandiose landscaping... which also boasts a train caboose. No, really. It's like the guy along I-80 who built a huge pseudo-castle, but has boats and RVs next to it and never bothered to screen out his own view of the interstate. o_O

Other roads offer sights like junkyards and random cattle, which are less fun, but still—better than stoplights!
