Thursday and new SPN! \o/

Please let my sanity hold until 9pm. US-PACIFIC time, which means I'm one of the latest on the planet to see the show every week. *cries*

I'm still at work, where my cubicle is on the other side of the hardware bring-up area. Most times, it's reasonably quiet. But right now? NEW HARDWARE. People are yacking away over there, and will be for the next 3-4 weeks, probably.

Since my iPod needed charging, I've been consoling myself with CDs on the laptop and headphones. Why do I not have the Prokofiev Piano Concerto #3 at my desk? Must bring tomorrow. :( Instead, I listened to BartokConcerto for Orchestra, and Music For Strings, Percussion, and Celeste. I wish the Dance Suite were also on this album (I've played in the orchestra for that one). And Janacek! Whoo! Sinfonietta (pretty kick-ass performance), Taras Bulba, and the Lachian Dances. The Janacek disk has various orchestras and conductors, and the performances are really good. I've heard more failed performances of Sinfonietta than you can shake a stick at, where it all falls down in the opening fanfare movement: too muddy, too slow, lack of bite in the trumpets, you name it.

And I've been re-reading montmorency's Princes Of Troy (Hector/Paris Slash, oh the atmosphere and the sexy and the angst), and Deus Lo Vult. The latter is set in the 'Kingdom of Heaven' universe, where an errant Templar night (envision Eric Bana) mysteriously arrives in Balian's (Orlando Bloom's) desert estate and forbidden attraction begins. *Happy sigh* My love of montmorency's writing is what first drew me to LJ 3 1/2 years ago, and *koff* across the brothercest barrior. See where that lead? Both series are highly recommended. ♥
