Pimping for art!
The lovely ladies who run the Supernatural-fandom Hell Quarterly 'zine are in desperate need of art for the upcoming issue. They got one submission out of all the people who signed up, and need more to publish this issue! If you have artistic skills, please visit hell_quarterly and get in touch with the mods. Past issues will show you some of the types of art displayed-- there's real variety. Please lend a hand!

In a week without "Fox" (sorry, mumbles11) I've missed "Prison Break" on Monday, and BOTH "Bones" and "House" last night. Argh! "House" in particular is hard to go without-- even the reruns are good! But nooooooo... I did watch "Reaper" live (oh Ray Wise, you absolutely kill me) and I vill acquire those last two episodes somehow. "Reaper" is so cracktastic that it's worth rewatching, even in its first season.

~*~

Michael/Sara Het fic for this week's pbficsurvivor challenge. Help! *charms muse with chocolate and promises of nekkid Dominic Purcell* *waits*

In West Coast U.S.A. (don't know about the rest of y'all), Brachs is selling Caramel Apple Candy Corn this year. Dear god-- this could be my downfall. It is SOOOO good. *inhales entire bag* :0

I'd love to help with the lack of artists, but me and artistic talent is a bit laughable. I could do stick!Dean and stick!Sam in some kind of pose. With badly-drawn guns, maybe.

Caramel Apple Candy Corn

This means nothing to me. What is it? (apart from edible, of course)

Yes-- that is sadly the PRECISE extent of my own artistic "talent." :(

Brachs' Candy Corn is this stuff, and it's got a certain buttery-sugary goodness to it that's addictive. Except for the white tips, which taste like pure sugar and are of the devil. ;)

The Caramel Apple version is fantastically unnatural and tastes really, really good. Like caramel apples, in fact. *mentally devours another bag* *rrrawr*

You are a cruel, cruel woman. Also? Me too. :0

Now if I can only stay awake in the evenings, because that's kind of foiling my plans!

From what I remember last week when I watched Bones and House, they said they were going to be on next week with a new one. I think because baseball was on instead.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Venushalfshellvenus on October 18th, 2007 12:19 am (UTC)
I can never remember how long the baseball lasts, but I thought it was usually for several deadly weeks. That's a long time for "House" to be gone, especially when they'll mess with it come "American Idol" over and over again. :0

I saw most of Reaper last night (Mom dumped water in the keyboard and started freaking out because she thought she'd killed the computer)...so amusing. I especially liked Sock.

*adds another show to her list of ones she needs to download or watch somehow online*

We call Sock "Blond Jack Black" in our house. Because he totally is!

There is so much random weirdness and glee in that show, which I find utterly irresistible. And Ray Wise as the Debonnaire Devil. ;)

Hey babe! I dunno if you got my email but I started an SPN fic challenge over at spn_rainyday and I'd love it if you could join *_* Or if not since I know the whole 5,000 word min. isn't really your thing, would you mind pimping it for me anyway? It could definitely use your massive fandom clout :D

Ooh, I'd meant to pimp it out but hadn't yet. My brain is like a sieve, so if I don't remember then poke me again.

I was all excited to participate, until I saw the word count. That's the kind I strive for with something like a Sweet Charity fic, and it's really hard for me to hit! Gah! But I'll try to lure others over on your behalf. ;)

Yay! I'm so sad, the challenge is kind of dead in the water without any big names to pimp it. *__* Thanks Karen

Actually, I'm pretty sure that they showed baseball instead of both House and Prison Break this week so there were no new episodes.
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Venushalfshellvenus on October 18th, 2007 04:47 am (UTC)
Oh, I know there weren't any new episodes. But I'm dying from that fact alone-- I hate the baseball interruptus on Fox, followed by Thanksgiving interruptus and Xmas Rerun interruptus and American Idol interruptus. It is maddening trying to watch House on that network, I tell you. :( I think the Monday night shows get spared the American Idol hit, but not the Tuesday/Wednesday stuff.
The Good, The Bad and The Lanathelana on October 18th, 2007 04:49 am (UTC)
Ah, don't give me nightmares. I have House withdrawals already.

*revives you by waving black flame-augmented cane* *steals sandwich off your plate* ;)

Did you see the latest Pushing Daisies yet? 1x03? It's adorable! (if it's still coming up in regular tv, I read somewhere that it's the best episode so far and I have to say that I fully agree)
The Coalition For Disturbing Metaphors: Venushalfshellvenus on October 18th, 2007 05:51 am (UTC)
Yes-- I loved it, other than my husband's weekly comment of "This storyline can't possibly last." *flogs him into silence*

The stuck Winnie-The-Pooh in particular cracked me up (I've never seen Chi McBride do comedy before this series, and he is funny), plus discovering two different people who believe that all the oxygen has been stolen from a room. :0
The Good, The Bad and The Lanathelana on October 18th, 2007 06:01 am (UTC)
OMG, the Asian guy with the heavy Southern accent! Made even worse that in my mind that particular kind of accent will always be the "T-Bag accent" to me :D

I do worry about the longlivety too, but I think for now, as long as the writing stays sharp, they'll be fine.

I forgot about that part! I just could not get used to it, though he was really consistent all the way through. And I loved the randomness of the backstory for his character. He totally was not what I was expecting-- in fact, "old-ish" was what I thought his character would be to start with.
