Dear Microsoft: yesterday I discovered Spider Solitaire under the "Games" folder on my PC. Oh, doom. Why do you offer these addictive, repetitive problem-solving games? *click-click-click*

Dear Whale who lives in my house: There's a poem which I'm sure you're unaware of, that begins The fog comes in on little cat feet. The poem does not go, The fog comes in like thud-thud-thud. Also? When you lie down and roll over, there should not be a noise associated with that! I realize that you're ginormous and all, but you've forgotten how to be a cat. Do your homework. :0

^^And this pose? Not dignified.

Dear Dead Like Me on DVD: *sigh* It was fun while it lasted. Wish you'd gone a few more seasons, but what you had was gold. Although I really wanted to hit George's parents during most of Season 2 for their sheer incompetence, but that's another story.

Dear creators of Hoodwinked: I don't know who you two are, but this movie is still hilarious the second time around, and your songs aren't half bad either. What were you smoking, anyway, when you wrote that singing goat scene? That one's my favorite.

Oh! I loved 'Dead Like Me'! I haven't seen that for ages.

This post reminds me that I almost left a comment in your journal yesterday while in a frantic state. An uninvited spider entered my home. Just jumped right in when I opened the door. And then, while I reached for an aid to escort him out, he disappeared. Yeah. Mm-hm. And he was big. Nasty big. As big a body as my friend spider, but with much longer legs.

Anyhoo...

We had a spider on our breezeway gate last weekend that was... ook. Three-D, to say the least.

Black with interesting white marks on its back, thick kind of furry legs (! Ick-ick-ick!), and in its bunched-up state almost the size of a quarter. Gah!

So if your spider disappeared, there's a chance he's still in the house. :0

Also... Dean icon! \o/

That's what my spider friend looked like. This new sucker is the same, except instead of thick, meaty, furry legs, he has long, shapely Wentworth Miller legs. And no, that doesn't appease me.

So if your spider disappeared, there's a chance he's still in the house. :0

I know, which is so not cool. How come my spider friend got it so well? He never tried anything with me. This new guy is just so rude.

Also... Dean icon! \o/

I concede. *blushes* That one's 'dean attack' - I like it a lot, but I haven't been using it that much. I'm also liking 'dean lip curl' and 'dean stairs', but it's 'dean blush' that I'm using the most. I'm still finding my proper Dean.

I have no Sammy as of yet. I'm going to double check with my icon mistress to see if she's got something for me. :)

I saw, checking your userpics, that you DO have an icon mistress. :)

I have the lovely, angsty Sam at left courtesy of anteka, and there are so many lovely SPN ones by carmendove too. :)

I do! And she's so incredibly nice. I loved the PB icons she made from the first few epis, so when I couldn't find a proper icon from that scene (i.e. Michael's, er, 'internal search' - yes, I'm that bad), I asked her if she would make one for me. I don't even know her and she made me 18 icons! And then later, I asked her to make me a header, and not only did she make me one, but she didn't even mind tweaking it three times until it was 'perfect'. She's a sweetheart.

I'm going to check out your icon recs. Thanks!

I love Spider Solitaire. It's way better than the other one. I remember I once deleted SS off my dad's computer and whoa, what a nightmare. I had to try to track it down or else there would have been hell to pay :D

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Cats!

Also? I'm back. Thanks for the birthday wishes. :D

:D I have such a problem with games like that, and that one's especially good because of the descrambling aspect. Although I'm still on Level 1, because I can't figure out how the game is played when there's more than one color!

I went looking for mahjong (? the game with the patterned tile scrambles) last night, and it's no longer on Microsoft games. :(

Did you have a good birthday? I started a fic, but it's dragging. I even started it early!

Haha! Our Whale is more of a tuxedo cat, though we used to have the black-and-white splotched cat (several people have called them "Holstein-patterned" cats, Holsteins being those black and white cows).

The Whale used to be named Lightning (he was a very fast kitten). When he grew ginormous, the grownups put in a bid to name him "Shamu," but the kids don't really understand the reference. So he gets called "The Whale" and "Fat Baby" most of the time. He's not actually fat-- he's just huge. 17 1/2 lbs., and really looonnng. :0

Aww. Whale is so sweet! I love his little feet all curled up. I have a special fondness for cats that are on the heavy-footed side. All of mine have been. Timmy, bless him, constantly rolls out of his tree while sleeping.

There's this poem I like by Rosalie Moore:

Cats sleep fat and walk thin.
Cats, when they sleep, slump;
When they wake, pull in -
And where the plump's been
There's skin.
Cats walk thin.

Cats wait in a lump,
Jump in a streak.
Cats, when they jump, are sleek
As a grape slipping its skin-
They have technique.
Oh, cats don't creak.
They sneak.

Cats sleep fat.
They spread comfort beneath them
Like a good mat,
As if they picked the place
And then sat.
You walk around one
As if he were City Hall
After that.

If male,
A cat is apt to sing upon a major scale:
This concert is for everybody, this
Is wholesale.
For a baton, he wields a tail.

(He is also found,
When happy, to resound
With an enclosed and private sound.)

A cat condenses.
He pulls in his tail to go under bridges,
And himself to go under fences.
Cats fit
In any box or kit;
And if a large pumpkin grew under one,
He could arch over it.

When everyone else is just ready to go out,
The cat is just ready to come in,
He's not where he's been.
Cats sleep fat and walk thin.

Okay, maybe your Whale gets the "sleep fat" part right?? That's the cute part, anyway. Gotta give him bonus points for it! :)

This is a neat poem, and it's true of any cat even though it's especially true if the cat IS a little bit fat. ;)

Cats wait in a lump,
Jump in a streak.

So true!

I have a special fondness for cats that are on the heavy-footed side.
We're used to silent cats who make no noise. Tigger, in the last 2-3 years, doesn't sharpen her own claws often enough to file them down, so she goes "click-click-click" on hard surfaces. But the whale goes "thud-thud-thud" on hard surfaces or "ksh-ksh-ksh" on carpet. He always makes noise.

And then his mouth soon follows. Darn that 1/2-Siamese part of his muttly heritage. ;)
